No lines no waiting at Mt Ellen today which was a nice surprise. Guess the cold and anticipated crowds kept people away. Click image for larger version.

^^ spanky : mad snow then cold stowe...nice outing! i'm glad we won't have to see any more indoor skiing pics, novelty notwithstanding

and the veggie chili to boot...good man!
Come August, I think anyone here will be happy with indoor turns.

At Okemo today and tomorrow with a group of 6 dads and 9 boys. Social skiing at its finest. But still managed to hit some crunchy/boney woods... a good reintroduction to tree skiing since my last impact.

    Possibly Magic on Monday.

^^ founder: there's a yogi-ism in there: nobody goes there - it's too crowded. nice pics.

^^ nice tree pic there spanky. enjoy the coming days.

...not doubting it. i plan to be there for a summer refresh.

platts was nice today. no wind and a sun that felt nicely march-like.
once the sun/afternoon warmth did its work there was some semi-deep corn to be had.

good crowd today. enough to fill most chairs but no lines of more than a handful. overall vibe of serenity. hints of spring skiing.
    really an outstanding day.

Cannon also saw no crowds on a top 10 day with great snow and sun. Cold in the morning but warmed up.

How were the resorty places like Stowe, sugarbush, loon, Kton on the president's day Saturday?

I was expecting more skiers here.

26` and breezy bob which is an improvement over yesterdays windy -7`.

Sweet day up there^ yesterday. Took a day off to catch up some things.

Webcams bush south showed a non holiday Saturday crowd and the Glen looked tolerable, today will draw out the goons with the warmer temps. 8:30 meet for a tour today.

Bush north was quite empty this morning. Started to fill up when I left around 11:30. Nice surprise compared to last weekend’s shit show.

Got a ate start and barely found a parking spot, but nobody was in the woods at Bolton.

Didn't see anybody til I left.

    Good day.

Mrs P and I met up with an old friend and used a crusty day to get more well acquainted with the trail network of the Bolton BC.

It’s still a bit of a maze to me in the Stowe View area.

Looks like you found some of the softer snow available, Laps.

Great weekend for ski glamping. mini inversion,-33f at Island Pond, a few miles away and 1800 ft higher -14f, the 10f at 2 was almost t-shirt weather. NEK frost feather skiing at its finest. Click image for larger version.

I couldn't believe no one had skied it. I can show you how to get there next weekend.

Fine work all, Laps you definitely found the best snow of the day. Late start here also but nobody else was free so went for a solo trip to get Lucy out for her first b/c adventure in a new to me west side area.

Great temps and only saw 3 groups of 2 but could tell it had been a busy few days. Still plenty of fresh snow to be found but I didn't venture too far off the skintrack not being familiar with the terrain and had to take it relatively slow on the down to teach the pooch the chase rules. Came down about 1k from just under the summit and decided it was worth another short trip up to hit the birch glades again but a little further left this time. Lucy was a quick learner and kept a bit more distance between us this time which definitely made it more enjoyable than the initial down. Definitely an area I am interested in doing some more exploring in.

Good times, G. Only regret is not doing another lap up high. Low conditions expectations were far exceeded. Peruvian stick stoke:

Oh yeah she bailed after the first lap... second lap (when we saw you) we tried another aspect and scored soft turns all the way back to the trailhead.
