This is funny, like Born from Sticks

Cat and I returned for 3825' of up and down yesterday. A bit warmer and breezy with a little sun.

11,500 of touring the last 4of 5 days was a good way to finish the old and start the new year.

Happy to see the forecast has improved

Anybody used it? Disclaimer the guy that told me about it was riding a snow skate.

I know nothing of that deal but those J snow skaters are no joke. Everytime I go there I see people ripping down the mountain on snow skates. Shit is rad. Don’t really see that at other hills I frequent.

That's pretty cute that you have given your skis a nickname Looks pretty good over there. Woods of Vermont far more ski able than ours.

He’s not the only one I’m sure... I call mine “Bitches”.

I often offer encouragement to them with a quick “Come on you Bitches!”. That is also my nickname for my ski legs, so there is some overlap and sometimes confusion.

So I just posted this as a f/u in tech talk, but the short story is that Black Diamond just replaced my older DSP Pro beacon with a Powder BT. Since I have no experience with it, I wonder if anyone wants to play "find the beer" with me and practice some searches? I'm in Burlington but will be in Stowe on Saturday and up at Smuggs on Sunday.

Does it still count if it's inside? Calm wind, a constant 28* F, light gray "ceiling". Light was a little flat. Frozen corduroy to start but the surface improved with skier traffic. Today was my first day back on skis since my accident on 1/1/19 and subsequent tibial plateau fracture surgery one year ago today. Knee felt pretty good... not perfect yet, but it was great to be back... even if it was inside on a bunny hill (in the New Jersey Meadowlands)...

Welcome back. That looks like a smart way to get your ski legs and confidence back. I would totally get a season pass if I lived near that mall. Do folks burn doobies on the lift?

I didn't have a clue how my knee would feel. Given the proximity to home, this was a no brainer to test it out. I'm thinking of buying the six-pack of tickets for $99... the occasional weeknight after work or summer weekend might be worthwhile for a couple of hours.

I didn't see/smell doobage, but we were there at 10 AM on a Friday... not too busy.

Thanks. It was good to be back sliding on snow... even if it was in the swamps of NJ.

Always nice to get back on snow after an injury. What's the bar scene like at the swamp slope Spanky?

34` and calm bob, looks like we're at the fringe of the precipitation, hoping for the best. Warm spell consolidated the sleet layer as it absorbed most of the New Years powder as it melted. More base when it freezes. Todays skiing should prove "interesting" for those who go.

Couple more of Peruvian on the first

Considering how crowded it was at the “new” Activity Center/Cafe and the main field, the blue & black trails were nice and quiet.
