Thanks for posting the Rush clip. What a loss. My 16 year old nephew, guitarist extraordinaire, and his band mate buddy (from Harwood Union) have declared the 2nd Saturday of the year to be Rush Remembrance Day. Gotta love the youngsters appreciating the old bands like Rush.

All is not lost on weather front. Winter, real winter, looks to arrive late next week.

^^yea, woke up from my first nap last night to learn that neil had died!
didn't know he had been ill. damn, very sad news.
had just listened to primus covering cygnus x-1 at work yesterday - with no idea of what was around the bend!

props to your nephew! rush's music has great staying power. i'm amazed that an album like permanent waves - which sounded so fresh and modern in 1980 - *still* sounds fresh to these ears today.

On the bright side, the salt on my truck is finally rinsed off.....

According to that Tom Messner pic, looks like we are in the “sweet” spot for the ice. Weather channel is saying over an inch of ice. Just got some gas for the generator, lots of beer, and the chain is sharp on the saw. Storm ready.

Lines were insane. Reminded me of Vail... (had to sometimes even wait for another group in front of us!)

Wish I had run into you as I was packing and thinking your famous beer stash(es)

Had a nice skin up and ski down at Mt. Snow this afternoon after an errand in Wilmington. 55 degrees but a bit of wind up top. As usual when skinning, patrollers wave, women smile, gaper dads say, “You’re going the wrong way!” Lots of fun. No rain at least.

Neil was such a monster drummer. I have such an appreciation for the band. Only saw them once. I'm sure all turns were soft today. I washed the cars.

this is a couple hours north of montreal. ive never seen so little snow along the big river towards charlevoix, but i don’t think this affected them much. forecast looking good all around and sag was already holding if you do make the drive. vali is pretty country club, it would feel like home.

Three day trips for me this week. My Weds was over 20 hours and I'm beat too. Still one of my best weeks ever.

Looks like Platty dodged the rain completely, yesterday and today, a huge break for them.

Skiing was ok yesterday, nothing great. Still we had a great time and hung out late.

Best turns were accessed by hiking across to Northface...

Looking at the gray skies this am, but still smiling about the week.

I think it was smart. Windy hot raining. Poor skier experience to say the least.

What I'm really trying to get at - is there going to be any natural base left in the region after this? I'm more concerned about the BC than the lift served.

Haha. Last year Killington closed on a Saturday due to extreme cold. This year Cannon and Plattekill on a Sunday because it's too warm. Life is so rich.
