Anticipating big winds coupled with saturated ground and there are going to be a lot of trees coming down. We already have two laying on the lawn from last week I tell the wife I am going to hop out on one leg and cut up.

Nice pictures singlecross, spent a few summer days as a youth at Blue Hill Falls playing.

I was googling some stuff and came across a 1966 Skiing magazine with an article about five S. VT ski areas--interesting quarantine read.

Cool piece, not much has changed, Stratton still is a classy mountain that's for sure. Also sounds like the Landgrove Inn was really swinging back in 66......

Not too surprising, this reports ranks Maine number one and Vermont third for states most structurally vulnerable to Coronavirus impact.

Cool piece, thanks for posting the link. I spent a fair amount of time in the area in the mid-70s but we were poor so we stayed in my uncle's basement in Springfield (VT).

Thank you for posting. Great article. The other articles and especially the ads are wild to see. Some of the advertisements were the equipment of my youth. And Stratton was the first place I skied in VT - not too long after this article. Ironically, I never skied Magic or Bromley back then, and now its the other way around!

those ads were hilarious. also the camber and sidecut profiles of the skis -- they were all identical!

with VT extending stay-at-home orders I tend to think not. I have my doubts about the base holding up for another month as well. Anyone got recent pics of the superstar glacier?
