Closed is a loose term in these parts; they have barricades up at the resort entrances but there's ways to get up there if you know your way around the area, plenty of other backcountry options as well.

probably 5" or so in the driveway and still snowing, my bet is 8-10+ up on the mountain. the base is actually holding up fairly well, surprisingly fun and surfy springtime conditions all this week. this refresh should certainly help keep us afloat for another two weeks or so.

Wish I could say I had stoke to share from the bubble. Good news is Peruvian's buddy gave a pretty realistic count at 20.

Last night a utility pole snapped about 50 yards from our driveway at camp and all the lines were on the road in front of our place. No cell, power or internet and my electrician was coming by this morning to fix an issue with my rental property in Portland so when I finally got out of the driveway had to go driving around trying to find cell service or wifi to deal with said problem. Pretty much a cluster fuck.

So at the end of the day we snowshoed in about 20" of snow just now. All I could think of the whole time out was an old back page photo in a Powder mag of a snowshoer, shoeist? and the caption read 'when skiers go to hell'

So today was a fucked up day in the bubble, making a manhattan now. Fuck it

That sure looks tasty. I had taken a look at webcam earlier to see if there were any tracks and surprised at the effort put in with the barriers. Glad some locals were able to enjoy

Me too. Cycling and kayaking are trying to fill the gap of that smooth, gliding, floating, flying sensation. But, as fun as they are, they ain't skiing. Still, I'm trying... what else can us glissade addicts do.

Shit load of cars in the parking lot, but not sure where everyone was. Two people while we were hiking up, and three people at the top of North Peak. Saw a few others through the trees on adjacent trails. Stayed at least 50' away.
