Family from NJ came up to the island of Vinalhaven. Apparently the islanders were not happy with them going to the store and traveling about the island and generally not quarantining themselves. So while a few stood by with guns, others dropped a pair of trees across their driveway.

Been a while since I have been on the Island. Don’t think there is right on either side, just sharing a story of our times.

Here's some visual context for those from away regarding Vinalhaven

They will shut it down after Sununu makes enough $$ from his stake in the tolls between 95 & 16.

Stay home. Enjoy the outdoors locally (meaning your neighborhood, your town, your backyard, etc.)...being outdoors is important but lets not put SAR folks, small mountain hospitals, others at risk...

Well, the order technically allows outdoor exercise. So, why not go to one of the most dangerous places in the Northeast (world?), with the worst weather that can change in a microsecond, hike thousands of vertical feet up wet, muddy and then snow packed trails, bowls and chutes, and descend down some ridiculously steep terrain. That MUST have been what they meant by outdoor exercise, right?
And if something goes wrong they'll come and get me. But its OK, I'm pretty sure I don't have Coronavirus.
Personally, I'm surprised that there are 400 of my fellow skiers WHO ARE FUCKING IDIOTS!

You obviously have never spent much time at Tuckermans or actually any ski hill if you think most skiers are Einsteins.

yesterday was awesome, soft corn snow ripe for some smooth springtime turns. gorgeous weather for a frontcountry tour in the NEK! saw a few other folks up on the slopes, everyone seemed to be within their skill levels just out enjoying the day and having fun, mostly all VT plates in the lot.
Today on the other hand it's absolutely dumping liquid precipitation up here. the base on most trails had been solid leading up to this but I bet this is going to wash out a ton of the snow on the lower mountain and run-outs to trail heads.my head is perpetually in the clouds

Have you not been to Killington on a weekend? The only surprising thing is that it was only 400, and it's a bummer for the local skiers who have the skills and experience to ski mellower parts of the mountain, but then again, this is why we can't have nice things.
