Oh there's gonna be some epic debris piles to train on in the next week. Your human grooming team will be working hard to smooth them out before the Jerrys arrive on Saturday morning

Giving this a big ol bump to let you know that this fella's been training hard for Alpental. If by training you mean oversleeping after putting too much RSO into an instant cup brownie. Going out to find the Mayor of Lot4 amongst the entirety of Pugetopolis - it's like Where's Waldo but on snow

I'll have a small gas grill and can throw in a cast iron pan.

I have a couple of coleman grills and a stove I can bring. Not sure how many propane bottles I have if someone wants to kick in for some fuel. I can also bring a cast iron griddle, pans, etc.

How are we fixed for tables? Tents?

I'm thinking I'll bring taco supplies for Thursday and Friday. Unless there are other preferences. Something quick and easy to heat and prep is best. From what I remember in my fridge I'm currently set up to do birria and/or bahn mi

I have at least 3 bottles I'll bring, and I'll throw in my cast iron pan.

My 1 burner stove has a stand base that goes on a bottle. It would be very tricky to keep it upright with a cast iron pan on it.

Extended Weather Synopsis for Wednesday night through Friday
If you found the sunshine and dry weather disorienting, then you'll be relieved to know the jet stream will be dropping south over the Pacific Northwest beginning Thursday to deliver the first in a series of Pacific frontal systems in a progressive pattern. After the initial precipitation associated with the frontal passage on Thursday, a trailing upper-level trough should invigorate showers along the west slopes of the Cascades and Mt. Hood Thursday night with a high likelihood for additional significant snowfall accumulations. Weak upper-level ridging will shift over the area on Friday as scattered showers wind down. A stronger and more potent storm is poised to affect all areas over the weekend.

Thanks for the forecast, B. It is shaping up!

Just a few days ago I was afraid we'd be scratching around on crusts... or pondskimming in fishing gear.

There will for sure be enough open creeks for (un/intentional) pondskimming. All options still on the table haha.

    Yes. It's all water, eh

    A couple of notes:

Outtatowners know where to go and how to get there?

Lot 4 is the last lot at Alpental, end of the road. Coming from the west... exit 52 and left under the freeway. Coming from the east... exit 53 for East Summit. Don't go past it otherwise you'll have to make a loop down on the west side of the pass.

Overnight parking is in lot 3 at Alpy, or along the east bank of the lot at the bottom of Reggie's chair at Summit Central (Tanner Way, by the Edelweiss condos and patrol bldg).

The road to Mt Dweebus has reopened after multiple landslides had it closed for days. This should let the Ikonoklastic Dentitites back up to their soup bowls. It is also the off-weekend for skischool... hopefully crowds are under control.

The coverage is pretty good on the upper mountain but there are open creeks, death holes, and the usual fuckery of old refrozen debris and logs and shit amongst the cliffs.

Ski within your knowledge of the terrain, don't just let em roll. There might be a couple of tourguided laps but just take it easy if you don't know what's below.

If you're an Ikon passholder, you still have to get a day ticket at the window.

Keep the substances out of sight and use discretion, Natl Forest land and all.

Any other stupid little quips I'm forgetting?

Everyone been training? Hope you're ready to get an ass kicking.
