You are a master troll but that is actually a good song.

Early Buffett is good, fight me, especially before he got into steel drum shit. High Cumberland Jubilee was a solid album recorded in 71. Bunch of decent stuff with Jerry Jeff Walker too.

I'm not a fan, but I'd be hard pressed to say I don't envy the man's lifestyle.

Quoted for truth. Ellis Dee a classic from those years. The Captain and the Kid will always mean a great deal to me after loss of my grandfather.

Not a Parrothead, and no one needs to hear Cheesburger or Margaritaville ever again. But yeah he has some good lesser-known songs- "Tampico Trauma" is one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1o9A8YYkxjw

The early ballads, like The Great Filling Station Holdup, are great story telling.

Also, have to admire his business sense. No one, not even the Dead, figured out how to make more money in the scenario of low record sales but devoted fan base.

God's Own Drunk comes to mind, but others too because of digging the story behind the lyrics, Son of a Son, Jamaica Mistaka, etc. Got to chat with Mac McAnally last winter, he said he's not looking at retiring soon, as he's got the best boss in the world, who won't wear shoes at work. I also did a sunset cruise in Key West on the Western Union, who he and a couple Hemingway kids sailed to Cuba where their parents hung out.

And I never hear a single word you say when you tell me not to have my fun
It's the same old shit that I ain't gonna take off anyone.
and I never had a shortage of people tryin' to warn me about the dangers I pose to myself.

My mother snuck my back stage at one his concerts when I was 7. Concert was on my sisters 9th birthday and she got that message to his folks. Not only did he sing happy birthday, he sent a postcard later (obviously I'm sure his people did) saying thanks for sharing her birthday with him. That was pretty fucking classy.

Post card is hanging on a wall in our beach shack in a nowhere fishing village mentioned in one of his songs.
