I actually bought a a new RM Thunderbolt 2016 frame for $1000 still with warranty. The large size is roughly the same dimensions as this.medium NS1.

Funny though that the newer short travel geos are so slack and with such long wheelbases. Everything I don't want in a short travel bike. It's good there choices but I had to hunt for an older style frame.to get what I wanted

S - in that Chinese frame bike I would be a medium for sure. It's monster truck size. Good price but the geos are for straightline Oakridge, Bend, flat smooth fast trails with wide turns

Please correct thyself on Oakridge: we have some shitty tight switchbacks on most trails! Not endless switchbacks, just a few sections, but some are very tight and exposed. It’s just the new bike specific trails that are made to handle with a 50” wheelbase!

They'd make sense if they were just little one-off experiments, but quite a few of these companies are planning on offering their goofy contraptions for sale to the public, usually for exorbitant prices. I'd be curious to see who would actually be willing to pay $5,600 for that frame.

I certainly have no insider knowledge but didn’t they just release new colours for the 2021 model? It could have been another model I was thinking of tho...

id certainly like to compare the nomad to the Bronson in terms of climbing tho.... both on my radar for my next bike.

I have no knowledge.

But I would guess we won’t see another 27.5 Nomad Soon... I think it will either be a mullet bike, replace the Megatower as a 29’er, or remain the same.

The reasoning being that the long travel 27.5 niche isn’t seeing much investment these days and the Megatower could be improved and is due for an update.

I dunno, I am seeing renewed interest in long travel 27.5 among the “ride for the party, not for the speed” crowd.

I think I’m in the minority but I’m forsure Interested in a 27.5” party machine.... when you look at the SC lineup I do see that the nomad is probably the odd man out at this point tho... might be able to grab a good deal on one at some point

I think it’s geographically based as well. When I lived in Washington I liked small wheels. Now that I’m in Colorado I like big wheels.

Without a lot of research my gut is that the long travel 29’er segment is seeing more investment and generating more sales. For example, I see way more sb150’s floating around than 165’s but then again, That could be that I live in an area where a lot of people lean 29’er.

I’m considering a new Slayer for ‘21, and I am not totally sure which way to go. It would be primarily for Targhee Bike Park, Pass laps, Monarch Crest laps, TWE, that sort of thing.
I might just stick to 29 so I don’t need a new carbon wheelset. I am hoping I can demo them back to back at Wydaho Rendezvous, if that even happens.
Man, I wish the Slayer just had a flip chip or some alternate rockers to run either...
