The new 27.5 Intense Primer has my curiosity for when my Spider gives up the ghost. A little more travel hopefully without giving up the rocketship feel of the Spider.

Big bars take a few rides to get used to, but it also depends on reach and style. In general, they feel way better, especially if you know how to lean and weight a bike.. but 800 is too wide for some. I was surprised on how narrow a 760 bar felt on a buddies bike the other day. I have been running around 780 the last few years.

2020 bikes that make your shorts tight
Took the Fuel EX 9.8 out today. Liked it much more than the Revel. Maybe it’s the slightly shorter bars or the slightly longer chain-stays, but I felt way better on this rig. Much more in control of the front end, way easier to push through.
Wasn’t sure about the 2.6 rubber, but quickly fell in love with them. 29x2.6 has an unreal amount of roll over. So fun. My next bike.

The problem with those things is the thru-shaft shock. The first one on my Slash lasted about a month and a half. Rockshox sent me a brand new one, which lasted about 5 rides before it sucked a bunch of air past the seals and now sounds like a wheezing pig every time it's compressed. That said, the thru-shafts ride nice before they die.
I've also come to the conclusion that the knock block thing is more hassle than it's worth.

Oh that’s good to know, thanks. And yeah, the knock block made it difficult to throw in my trunk. Not cool.

I fucking hate bullshit showroom gimmick marketing stuff. Just make a good bike and sell it because it's good and you're a good company. It's like Trek is borrowing a page from the Cannondale play book.
However many are in a shit ton.

Not the factory...but first review I've seen:
https://www.pinkbike.com/news/review...r-290c-rs.htmlIt makes perfect sense...until you think about it.
I suspect there's logic behind the madness, but I'm too dumb to see it.

What are the thoughts on the leverage ratio? The new sight uses a 52.5 mm stroke shock for 150 mm of travel. In contrast, the old Range used a 60 mm stroke shock for 150 mm travel. The leverage curves of the two bikes basically parallel each other, according to Norco, but the new Sight has a higher leverage ratio overall.
A friend of mine who is an aggressive ride and also a heavier guy was considering the bike until he noticed the leverage ratio. Norco's suspension setup website thing puts him at the maximum allowable shock pressure for the Fox Float X2.
