2020 bikes that make your shorts tight

These two have my attention at the moment.

The 2020 Slayer blew me away, but it pretty much is "Bike Park/Big Shuttle Only", IMO.

Probably pulling the trigger on a new '20 Instinct BC with a coilover.
Supposedly Rocky is working on an instinct update for '21, but the numbers on the current iteration are mostly perfect for me.
Wish it had a degree steeper STA, though, as I run a mile of seatpost.

Gonna make it full XTR drivetrain.

    FUCK SPECIALIZED.
But fuck that new enduro makes me grow a big chubby one.
Do I detect a lot of anger flowing around this place? Kind of like a pubescent volatility, some angst, a lot of I'm-sixteen-and-angry-at-my-father syndrome?

    fuck that noise.

    Re:enduro

464 reach on a ‘medium’, with sub 64 HTA?
Downhill only on looong, straight trails?
Sounds terrible for the twisty stuff.

2020 Santa Cruz Hightower for me. Frame is sitting in my garage waiting for parts.

It's certainly no nimble, light trail bike, but if you compare like to like on sizes, its geo is REALLY close to the Slayer you got all hot and bothered about. Whether that class of bikes makes sense for you or not is debatable, but they're very similar.

Well, that has a good bit to do with why I prefaced that by saying that I see the Slayer as a Park/Shuttle bike primarily.
And the reason i am choosing the Instinct (431 R on a medium).
I would take the Instinct to the East Coast, and the Slayer for TWE, por ejemplar.
So, yeah, I see your point.

Yeah that looks like a fast bike, but damn, $9750 for the s-works bike is ridiculous. Seems like you could build up the frame with same or similar spec for less.

I like where Ibis' head is at with this one. I would love to see more smart build aluminum bikes in a reasonable price range.

Bikes with STA <77, HTA >65, and aren't coil compatible don't do it for me after having ridden my Sentinel for close to a year. (Yes, I know Sentinel isn't great for a coil, but with an 11-6 it gets by.) Basically I want the same bike with ~10mm more travel and more progressive suspension.

Assuming the forthcoming Wreckoning rework follows the line of the Offering (steep STA) and gets suitably slack, THAT will be a threat to my credit card.

There aren't that many bikes in that category that aren't coil compatible, are there? I can only think of a couple.

You're right, not that many. But it does rule out some of this year's popular ones, like the Hightower v2 and Ripmo. Santa Cruz is so fucking stupid undersizing the shock tunnel so that you can't run coil on the HT.

The new Rocky Mountain Instinct yes will be 2021...which means Crankworx 2020.

    Forbidden Bike x WeAreOne:
We Are One has already mentioned in interviews that they're next project is a bike frame. The guys have a tight relationship with Forbidden and are all riding the Druid (130mm high pivot bike), soooooooo, speculation is that the Druid will be handbuilt in Canada by WA1, or an even more likely and exciting scenario...a new Forbidden Enduro bike built/designed by WA1. Anybody I know with the Druid absolutely LOVES this bike.

    .
Which also means (optimistically) late '20 delivery dates.
I just hope they don't screw it up by making the TT/reach too long.

Justified. I imagine a new Sentinel must be in the works for 2020.

I really want to ride the Pole

As an XL rider stoked on the Forbidden design philosophy of lengthening chain stays and steepening seat angles with growing frames.
