Nuking up BCC from 230-5, did two quick ones below willow knob, definitely some wind drifted snow, the S face of the knob was almost bare. I was rollin solo so didn’t poke the bear or dig a pit. Still deep and next to no tracks up there

Yep, hard to miss. Plow basically caused the car below the power plant to go off the road, they were running 2x up until the mini s-curve through that rock. One plow had both wheels over the double yellow. Cars were going everywhere to avoid. Terrifying to watch. Almost too deep to be skiing things like willows

I saw that car off the side - canyon patrol was pulling them out. Guy was wearing a 80s fartbag and appeared to have a mullet so I may have unfairly judged his driving abilities if the plow forced him off

You know its a good cycle when your friends in Colorado make a last minute trip to visit ya. Took yesterday off from work to show them around all the usual powder places of downtown Alta (Silver, Days, Cardiff). This morning we skied a nice little cooler off a nice little peak, snow was amazing, no movement except for what got kicked up in yo face. What a cycle, I hope everyone got lots of snow in their faces! Some photos from the last two days.....

A week of touring in the Wasatch will make any Coloradan (me included) question why we accept the limitations of our annual persistent weak layers. Hard to beat that stable mid-winter UT blower.

ya knows its good when yur friends skip the land of legal weed and summit county bunny locals and return to git utarded
the unopening of the hwy caused a bit of a traffic jam atop summit
but with 13/20 rookie trollers this season any soli terrain openings are appreciated
and it gave thin cover a chance to git the wayne wong on

The Gusty Weber canyon winds? Never skied any Goode skis, but probably had some Goode poles at one point which I think was a different company... Respect the hustle and ski passion. RIP David Goode.

None of them attributed to weather. All pilot or mechanical errors as far as I know.

2 years ago a good friend of mine was killed in one of those crashes, him and his wife and another couple that were headed to W Yellowstone. He was a high mileage biker and I just got a notification from Strava the other day wanting me to encourage him to start riding again.

In other news....snow was good yesterday from 6300-7800. Didn't go any higher since the wind effect came on all at once above that. Upper half was settled creamy pow and lower half was still skiing deep. South facing got damp, crusted as the sun went over the ridge.

some seriously wind affected snow evident at ~9400' ridgelines, but mid elev protected NE was as usual skiing great. refresh won't hurt either.

45 degrees at the WP trailhead at 1pm. Winds picking up, next storm isn’t too far away. Snow had a little funk.
