Getting from the peak to the chute is no big deal as a downclimb.
Specially when you're with someone who left skis on to descend Dromedary's E ridge!
Maybe the bird will quit giving us the bird and allow back country travel in their permit area?
    Not.
Time spent skiing cannot be deducted from one's life.

I hit pipeline once the day after the Bird closed, June IIRC, and the downclimb was fairly sporty, but not as bad as it looked from fair away. I agree it looks bare as shit right now though.

Nowhere close to those last 2 shots, but I'll add some doggie stoke from the Oquirrhs to the mix:

Yeah, it was fantastic corn! Dropped in a SE aspect at 10k a little after 10 and it was perfect. Had to walk on dirt at the start (6500'), was all snow by 8k'. Snowpack is going quick on southerly faces over there.

found a few inches of hoar that skied awesome on a smooth carvable surface above 10,000 feet on a north facing slope. then found awesome corn around noon on north facing all the way down to 7600 feet. pretty stoked on today

I think pink supermoons are my favorite supermoons though technically it was past its superness point this morning

was thinking about heading up after work and read this in the avy report

"Riding conditions are grim as there is not enough new snow to keep you off the icy hard surfaces, and with cold temperatures and clouds in the forecast, I doubt many slopes will soften today. Yard work?"

    lol

I was out yesterday at Alta and it was definitely dust on crust, with the dust blown off on places. I think I'm gonna take today off. I'm starting to be ready for corn season.

UAC also wrote this in today's (Mon. 4/13) and yesterday's report

Slide-for-life: Steep sustained slopes that are now frozen solid offer a one-way ticket to the bottom if you were to slip or fall in steep terrain. Axe, (ski)-crampons, whippet ski pole, will be useful today.

would stick to N aspects but snowaddict's post gives me no hope. I'll wait for more snow or more sun.

I almost bailed this morning after reading that quote in the UAC forecast...but you don't know unless you go. We found plenty of soft turns on N aspects.Click image for larger version.

the UAC always makes a big deal of slide for life... idk. maybe if you're on 120+ underfoot it's scary skinning, but otherwise that's why skis have edges. it's firm cuz it's april and it's cold.

around these parts, slide for life conditions usually means there will be an all day window for corn skiing on solar

high temp in the teens and wind chill around 0 doesn't really lend itself to corn harvesting

Guess I should have got my shit together and went skiing instead of doing yard work. I guess there's always tomorrow. Dshack89 is right, you don't know if you don't go.

Does anyone know what happened between po po and snowboarders today at B-RIGHT-ON? Just caught something on the news where the cop was right in in the face of a poacher. The poacher asked for social distancing. The answered with superlatives...

From what I saw on FB there were calls to post the whole video, people were saying they were trying to jump off the roof of one of the buildings or something similar, lots of rumors but I don’t believe the boarder was innocently riding at brighton
