while I think taking cars off the road isn't a bad idea
the Zion, Kehlstein Road, model of no private vehicles isn't going to work very well at all
the cottonwoods are not empty handed tourist attractions
its a mountain community of resorts and private real estate homes and dwellings
the brrrappheads have every right to use that road and trailhead atop guardsman and it shouldn't change
did my part this weekend to alleviate another ride in the snake and went down south
full bore blizzard Saturday in b head
sunday was cold but the chalky goodness of the wind buff skied well
got the fur kid out
didn't suck

One of those days...
Little sluff and a track across the upper, looked like maybe someone ski cut it and didn't like what they saw.
I liked it.
4500' of pow to close the year out, RIP 2019 you were one of the best.
Might be at Brighton with the wife tomorrow, white G3s with dynafiddles feel free to holler. We'll be lapping Crest, GW and Molly Greens... I'll try to find something insightful to say about our civic infrastructure to contribute to the erudite discourse here

Said goodbye to 2019 much later than MW today, I'm on the lazy start train these days.
The ants had gotten to Red Baldy but for some reason didn't farm the upper section of the face, had to remedy that. Once the skinner was in peeps started remembering that long runs are also fun.
Skins on to the top of Lake Peak, Dec 2019 will definitely go down as quite special. Hope to see all you gapers on the skin track in 2020!

Another decade of stoke? Sounds like a great idea.

Anyone else sitting in LCC traffic? Been sitting at snowbird jn gridlock for 30 min or so. Shouldn't have had a beer during that little closure at 3:30 I guess

WASATCH STOKE, CONDITIONS, OBSERVATIONS and ASSORTED DRIVAL 19-20
The car off the road was just above the pnr at the bottom, uphill lane, Subaru clear off the road about 5 feet over the edge pointed in direction of travel(uphill). We were very perplexed as to how he ended up there, as the road was clear and not at all slick. UPD were arriving on scene as I departed the PnR, just missed the closure junkshow

In hindsight I should have just gotten in my truck and started down the canyon and waited a few minutes, but the tram club was calling my name. Some day I'll learn.

Left at 3, sounds like a good choice.

Once past entry one at Snowbird things went fairly smooth except for the broken down plow.
Snowaddict, htfb and I think we saw you get on Zoom at some point in the day. Burgundy helmet with a BBI sticker?
Kicking afternoon, it was worth the ride down.

Spent the afternoon with little ones getting pelted by graupel off the sunrise lift at solitude. Mix of heavy snow and blowing wind made for some fun riding. Currently not snowing in BCC so I hope this storm is just taking a break.

Thought about beating the closure tomorrow but forecast downgraded to 4-8 overnight?
-

4-8 is the best forecast. When they put up huge numbers like this morning it never pans out. I’ve seen so many 4-8 forecasts end up well over a foot.
