AFAIK, Wasatch Touring only mounts touring/tele/xc bindings but they do a damn good job of it, not sure if that’s changed it’s been several years since I was at the store.

WASATCH STOKE, CONDITIONS, OBSERVATIONS and ASSORTED DRIVAL 19-20

Downhill bindings. I’ll look into L9. Good reminder - thanks. Just what I needed.

Just a little worried - wouldn’t want him corrupting skifishbum or anything...ha.

Man, thanks sfb. That’s very cool of you. Poor college kid and all. I will send him by to pick up then do the drop off when he gets some wheels.

    Thanks again.

I'm confused. You were there in the daylight? They say fatherhood changes you, but its only been 6 days!

    Utah?
Yeah, Utah. It's wedged in between Wyoming and Nevada. You've seen pictures of it, right?

So after 15 years we finally made it to Utah.....

    Interesting factoid from another thread:

    http://bestsnow.net/seas06.htm

Last big hurricane season was followed by a good/great winter in the west. Fingers crossed!

How is Solitude? considering moving up to SLC area for this season and will be on an Ikon base pass. I stopped in SLC for a day about a month ago and wasn't in love with it, but it seems doable. Would prefer to be in a smaller town but I'm not Mormon (although my grandparents are from Logan and Provo and are very Mormon). Been skiing mostly Copper and Winter Park the last two years, may just move to Leadville or something as I'm super over city life, but I'd like a change of ski scenery.

Would only have unlimited days at Solitude, plus the 5 days at Deer, Alta/Bird, and Brighton. Do ski backcountry.

If you want to ski, SLC is a great place to be. Solitude is pretty okay. Alta/Bird is a few notches above Soli IMO, but it is still a fun hill to ski with decent sidecountry access. Keep in mind all parking at Solitude is paid, so factor a parking pass into your decision making.

SLC itself is obviously not a ski town, but that also means better access to jobs and conveniences. Beware of the inversion though, it can be brutal.

Good to know about the pass. I’ve skied Alta and Snowbird a few times. Never been on the Solitude/Brighton side.

edit: wow that parking price is stupid.
