JHMR going no reservations needed for passholders, all others will need to reserve to ski. They don't specifically mention Ikon but have to imagine they have to reserve in advance?

Thinking this will mean Alta or Altabird passholders will get unlimited access as well without reservations necessary. And just praying for the ikon reservation system press release!

That'd be great, but I'd be really surprised if Alta could put together a reservation system on such short notice. They're a really small operation from what I've seen... which is what I love about it too.

I think it'd have to come from mothership Altera, but who knows.

Looks like JHMR added this to the FAQ:

I HAVE AN IKON PASS; DO I NEED TO MAKE A RESERVATION?

Ikon has not made an announcement on their policy for reservations this upcoming season.

I thought IKON said that individual resorts set their own policies? Didn't they also say if the resort is open but IKON holder cannot ski due to capacity limits you can go pound sand.

Power came back on at the house 10pm last night. Some of the workers getting things online had driven from Iowa that day. Major operation on a bunch of fallen spruces on lines. Here's one of 3 major problems that had to be fixed before our neighborhood got power back:

Got power at work yesterday morning. Nice to be able to finally get my car out of my garage and go in the mountains this weekend, it's inevitable we get CA+OR+WA smoke soon, which will suck!

i would not be surprised to see a touring / avy gear shortage...

Yeah, but they rarely, if ever, actually reach capacity. It only happens on the busiest of Holiday / weekends. I read somewhere that it's 7,000 day tickets.

I did hear something interesting about what Snowbird will be doing this season: skiers are going to be stoked with their new paid parking reservation system. Sounds like Snowbird will be implementing a similar system as JHMR and have already purchased their parking software. From what I hear, all skiers will need to pay to park this season at the bird.

BobMc you got a seasons parking pass again this year right?

Does The Cliff still offer valet parking for non-guests for $5-10/day? If so, that is a no brainer.
