You bet. However, local kids don’t make the ski hills noticeably busier. Those kids are either regular skiers or they are not. Spring breaks from around the rest of the country do make a difference. Generally speaking, the whole month of March is pretty busy. April is usually a ghost town.

    OK.

I have maybe 80 days at AltaBird now over the years and normally don't come to the end of March but coming out a month earlier this year and will be by myself for half of the trip.

Feb and March are great times to visit. Usually biggest base depths of the season...

I just want to experience a more wintry feel, used to my 10 days skiing at AltaBird with 4 days snow and 6 days above freezing.

I am in Japan prior to this trip so I will hopefully get to continue the Powder feel of that trip.

WASATCH STOKE, CONDITIONS, OBSERVATIONS and ASSORTED DRIVAL 19-20

Finally a little chewy out there, this coming refresh is well timed. Getoutside and I were both saying it felt like this morning was the most settled snow we’ve skied this season...

Lots of snow headed for the Wasatch over the coming week! Click HERE for some of my favorite Utah snowfall forecast links. Lots of forecast models to look at on-line these days but having forecasted the weather in Utah for many years I have found that on average (not always) the WRF-GFS forecast is the best. The attached image is the WRF-GFS forecasted snowfall between 5am today and 5pm on Saturday with more on the way after that. Enjoy the snow!

    Happytime -

Thanks to your motivational text, I scored first box, OB first tracks for my best run of the year so far. Boottop, 4k vert ~5 miles, untracked. And a walk-on box to boot. 12 minutes up, 15 down. Solid stoke my brotha.
Maybe all the Ikoner's came to JH last year and didn't like it. I would take a UT IKnr over most any other, TBH.

edit: Jtran- we got 6" from 6 am to noon. Blowing like a...gotta love days like these.

Excellent skiing this afternoon and it was a complete Ghost town. Just all the homies. Just the way it should be.

    This could be interesting.

I've been feeling the pull of the Mothership
I don't think my life will be complete
Until I can get first boat with with DJ at the village
And rip that muthafukah like I been dreaming about!

Cashflow recoveries have commenced since jesusday
Maybe one of those weekends near the end of the month...
Or the beginnings of the next will line up for my pilgrimage to (OUR) Mecca
Might have a spare seat or two in the shaggen wagon when I pull out of Zion
headed North to the Promised land to chase a storm on DJ's home turf....

Jtran decided a doctors appt is more important than skiing this afternoon, poor life choices, anyone want to do a tour? I've got all my stuff and will be pulling out of WVC just before 2 to head to either canyon.

I need to go to Utah.
    Utah?
Yeah, Utah. It's wedged in between Wyoming and Nevada. You've seen pictures of it, right?

So after 15 years we finally made it to Utah.....

Thanks BCSAR and POWMOW Ski Patrol for rescues
