Pre-edit response so I figure I'd post it anyway.
I've been worried about the MTB situation too. It's not exactly been easy to dodge people on skis these past few weeks in popular drainages like White Pine, Cardiff, Days, Porter. I started a few minutes behind a group of 3 people recently and they were barely slower than I was. I spent a minute or two close to them as I was passing, didn't want to ask them to pull over and didn't want to redline myself to get by.
On the way down I've had to go through large packs of slowshoers or hikers who barely give enough space to pass. On skis it's only an issue for the first and last bit of a tour but on a bike? Every fucking blade of grass on Shoreline is going to be infectious by Saturday... Mouth breathers like me with a HR in the 190s will be blowing clouds of droplets into tight packs of followers. Within a week every blade of grass on Shoreline will be a contagion vector and the brake ruts will be a foot deep. It's going to take some real out-of-the-box thinking to ride in quiet places.

What I don’t get is it’s more busy than normal. Weird. Empty in burbs but packed in the hills
Sent from my iPhone using TGR ForumsI need to go to Utah.
Utah?
Yeah, Utah. It's wedged in between Wyoming and Nevada. You've seen pictures of it, right?
So after 15 years we finally made it to Utah.....
Thanks BCSAR and POWMOW Ski Patrol for rescues

At least many are getting the bikes out early this year. Today, I went for a ride on the new Basin Rec. trails in and around Promontory. Not technical at all, but a nice climb and fun downhill. Snow on dirt above say 7700'. Spotty wet patches along the way. All in all there was fun and heavy breathing to be had. I ran into 3 groups of 3 or less on the downhill

i haven't really noticed a real uptick in numbers, but I've also been making it more of a point to avoid those areas i expect to be crowded, ie alta/upper lcc. Trailheads in the SL valley seem to be pretty crowded though and I've tried to go at off hours. today i actually went to alta via albion basin and i didn't run into a lot of people but you could see the hoardes as you got closer to the parking lot (which was odd seeing that we started at 8am and the temps were forecasted to push 50). still found some good snow but seemed to be hiding about 9800ish feet on north faces only. lots of good skiing the past few weeks. here are some random pics from it all. stay safe and wash your hands.
Also ski season is cancelled. tell all your friends

The incoming weather bands will change this, but pseudo-corn was A+ at 10:30 this morning all the way up to 11K feet on S facing aspects. Just gotta dodge the debris from prior slides.

This guy knows. It was plan C for the day after chasing corn and running out of time on south faces. Neither of us had skied the line in over a decade so we were stoked and we also skied a little mini golf line prior that would likely have had a huge traverse under it in normal times so that was nice

That major storm with all the wind(the big one) did a number on pipeline. I looked up at it one day from Snowbird before the end of the season and thought they may not open it. Basically sheer rock downclimb, no snow from the peak to the line. Who knows, could be fine though
