Weird spot to get stuck for sure. The one I saw was silver, even more decked out for rhino hunting season, and a bit up canyon.
Those jeeps are rigged to the nuts, I think you're dealing with a whole shitload of pilot error.

I need to go to Utah.
    Utah?
Yeah, Utah. It's wedged in between Wyoming and Nevada. You've seen pictures of it, right?

So after 15 years we finally made it to Utah.....

I am planning on dirtbagging it out to utah this week for a job interview. I was thinking of hitting up alta/solitude on fri/sat/sun. Anyone have any recommendations on low key places to stay the night where no one will start slamming on my windows or plowing me in? Any recommendation on skiing?

Toasty- ALta will be skiing better than Solitude is my guess. Parking between REi and the climbing gym on 3300 south is a safe bet, probably closer places to the canyon though I don't know about....

And head up the canyons way early on the weekends. Parking is $20 at Solitude btw for 1 person, you could park on the road near it for free or at brighton and take the bus down to solitude. Or take the bus up the entire canyon.

Is Alta free? If brighton is free parking maybe ill just ski there for a day and 2 days at Alta. How early are we talking? Front range colorado is like be on the road by 5:30am. Would it be better to park in Park City for the brighton day? Really appreciate the advice!

LCC isn't a friendly place for overnight parking. Especially considering the forecast, I would recommend not trying to park in the canyon.

Muted is right about Momentum on 33rd or Momentum down in Sandy at 10600. It's a little farther from the canyon but you won't get hassled.
The Park and Ride at 9400 & Highland allows overnight parking and bonus points you can score a bus right from there. Not sure what the car camping policy is, though.

I wouldn't park in Park City for the Brighton day... that is a looong drive around since the Guardsman road is closed for the winter. Maybe you could hike over and back, but that would be a slog. I wouldn't sly overnight park in BCC either. I'll let someone else speak to what time to leave for a weekend resort powder day. UDOT sometimes closes the LCC road for control work when it dumps, and I can't remember where I usually hear about this but this thread isn't a bad place to check I think, maybe the UAC site? Anyway sometimes like 6am-8am LCC closure is not unheard of. Just fyi.

I would not stay in PC to ski Brighton. Road is closed between them in the winter.

^This - as a climber who is often there, plenty of the staff live the van life and park there, it would be a place to lay low without hassle. Plus the grocery store / cafes / coffee make things a little easier...

LCC avalanches closures are generally 0530-0800 and usually announced the night before. @udotcottonwoods twitter should have the announcements. If you go up the canyon before the closure don't stay in your rig during an interlodge.

If there is a weekend LCC closure and you have other options use them.

Got out for my first tour on my repaired foot. Did a lap up the Emma's. South face skied super good up hi with the bottom 1/8 of crusty. Maybe 6 inches settled pow on firm base, some surface whores down low. Plenty of people tagged west bowl wish I had more time for a cabin run or two but it was oner and doner. What a gorgy day wish they were all this purty!

In other news I have 6 rad heeler/lab/pit mix pups that are going up for adoption in a couple weeks if there are any utard mags looking for a pupper just in time for Christmas!
Caution! Super cute pupper pics in this link...

Cute pups, but they can’t be part lab if they slept with leaving a kernel of food uneaten. Good luck with the adoption.

Gad 2 and Road to Provo openings today provided plenty of soft snow. Sure patrol is stoked to get people on it before the next storm too!
