nice line on Stuart. Son skied Kautz glacier some variation sunday. Said there was a rock band near top that gave him some trouble, exposed traverse. So don't know how stacked it is. Started from Longmire. Just thought I would mention it as it is about the only positive thing I have to talk about at the moment.

Apparently NWAC has suspended avalanche forecasting due to Gov. Inslee's stay at home order. This seems shortsighted to me. People are still going to be out in the mountains.

Not sure how many folks are familiar with White Pass. But I got to ski the Y Chutes just east of there along Highway 12 on Sunday. Pretty stoked to have snuck this in before the whole stay at home business. Click image for larger version.

Agreed especially with the large swings in temperature and now snow forecasted

If you know more than the public health experts you probably know more than the avalanche center as well, so it doesn't really matter.

I was thinking about some low angle stuff this weekend, bit NWAC telling me to stay home is one too many "don't go" signs for my liking. I'll be digging trail with my dog instead.

Call me crazy, but people that solely rely on nwac should not be in the mountains. It's a good starting point.

Well of course, but they’ve got somebody out there doing an assessment almost every day in every zone. Pretty nice starting point, or data point.

I'll be out doing some mellow skiing this week and weekend. Stay the fuck away from me, and I'll do the same for you. Thanks!

I don't have skin wax and don't believe in vaccines or eye contact, but I'll trade you some lightly used AK Rockets and a six of talls for an amateur avalanche forecast. For entertainment purposes only.

My goal is to spend as much time as possible up on microwave / bowl 4 vicinity before there is a lift up there... Skied exceptionally well today.

Dust on crust below 4k this morning. No real warm-up so it's unlikely to even soften. Stay home, the skiing is mediocre af
