Let me guess...have to have 20/21 icon pass to reserve. Now your pass has been used an no longer eligible to defer to following season?!

The fences are down at the summer source lake uphill dog park trailhead, but the restrooms remain locked and there's no garbage service
I can't wait to clean-up after all the "conscientious" outdoor recreationalists next week

Rumors confirmed!
But to add some fake news to the fire: you definitely can't drive the road to within reasonable striking distance of Silver yet

When your day starts with being called an "inconsiderate jackass" it can only get better
I'd say it turned out pretty dang good
ACH saved me a parking spot
Coverage was surprisingly fat for how far up the road you could drive
Squiggled thru the trees and kept the skins on snow the entire way from the car
It goes for awhile but it won't go continuously for much longer
I ️ fat bowls

The main ski objective:
Could have started skinning waaaay earlier, but walking in hiking boots on the grippy, but solid snow surface was easy. Didn't need to start skinning till about 200' below the pass.
The long traverse on frozen snow around the backside of the pass made for difficult skinning for our amateur selves. It may look like she is raising her arms in victory, but is actually un-ironically telling me i'm #1 with both hands. I didn't mind, the views were too good.
The corn was about 30 minutes overripe by the time downhill skiing happened, but id rather have over-done corn, than underdone. It was great to rip turns, and surf underneath a small ridge cornice on a bluebird day with soft snow. And the the views were incredible.
Really easy "bushwack" back out to the easy to find trail. That area is stunningly gorgeous. We got a couple "there's still skiing!?" questions from the early afternoon hikers just showing up as we were returning to our car in the afternoon. Great day out.
