The rain's all but stopped. Unfortunately it coincided with the band starting at the bar. Decisions were made not to dry out

My mouth tastes awful and my head is pounding. Apparently it's really windy & rainy outside but nobody's here so on goes the fishing gear

Lower Alpental skied fine with soft slushy snow and no crowds. Never made it up 2 after it opened around lunch. Dried out around 11, but was completely drenched before that. Am I the only one worried about the viability of Alpental staying open after this next rain event? I've never seen the creeks/waterfalls running like this in February. The creek from Eisfallen going over to the top of lower Armstrong is going to break through pretty soon, cutting off access to the lowest part of the mountain. Not sure they can repair that without an extended period of below freezing temperatures. I'm sure there are some of you longer timers that would know better than me and have seen worse.

“Good for the base” didn’t really occur after 10am at Central. Soft laps with the kids and much smaller than typical crowds made for a pleasant Saturday.

It's the most water I've seen at Alpental but there were two times in my past when it was worse. I don't spend time worrying about it and ski what's on the ground.

I haven't seen this much excitement about 4" in a long time. The snow skied better yesterday when it wasn't crust, but the sunshine is a nice touch.

Not at Hyak. Good lord, we're overrun with kids today, lines have been some of the longest I've ever seen and it appears that nobody gives two shits about the Superb Owl

Definitely have your eyes on that bond between the rain crust and what’s immediately above it before the rain hits later in the week: crust—>grapuel—>duff—>dry, cold night might lead to potential bullshit with more new on it.

Who's all in N Idaho? Hooking up with friends who rented a house on Lake Coeur d'Alene Monday (or Tuesday). Any locals want to show me
around and make some turns? Most of the peeps I'm staying with are content to make turns on blue groomers all day. I need to explore more and will be at Schweitzer and Silver thru Friday or Sat.
