Looking at the temps over the last seven days it would have been mostly just watering the grass.

Well, properly watered grass is good for the base.

    Right?

At least the CPC discussion is positive...

The IOD will likely become the “dominant mode” of tropical variability, and widespread convection over the Western Indian Ocean may teleconnect to the midlatitudes and help change the downstream pattern over North America with more “troughing across the West”

That's cute, it looks like GwynNWAC has a premium subscription to Snow-Forecast, too:

But if it's right, it'll be a welcome sight even at the lowest of pass levels:

10 feet!!!!! is the standard when you click the top of the mountain and ask NOAA to estimate what a storm will bring

I suppose that depends how deep the PNW m-series stack is these days

The real question is how long until we get some much-needed base-building rain?

But, the medium-range forecast is starting to really shape-up - I see snow levels as low as 1000' next week!

You guys are going to jinx it if you keep flapping your gums about the forecast. We'll be lucky to end up with 1" of refrozen slush at this point.

Took a run up Alpental Valley to Snow Lake this morning. Getting cold but amazing how little snow there is. No snow on the trail at all until almost to Gem Lake. Man it's beautiful up there.

Looks like it's gonna get cold, snow a bit, and then get dry (and even colder) again. Should be enough chill to get the Windy Hill & Southern Resort running by early Dec. Seems like 'merican Thanksgiving north of the border is gonna be lean this season...

Got nice views of Glacier and Baker today. Rainier too. Stewart looks like it has a bit of snow sticking around even on the S aspect. I apologize if I jinxed it for us. If Tahoe gets nuked on this winter and we get shafted, feel free to blame me.

So how bad is Whistler right now? Joining friends for US Thanksgiving and the cams look pretty depressing. Not even sure they are making much snow?

I don't think it's been cold enough to turn the guns on much recently but I'd imagine they'll have them going over the next few days. Doesn't look like there'll be many runs open when they open this weekend, probably just the runs around the Emerald chair

    Lots of rocks
    Little bit of snow
    A few tourons
    One fucking goat
    One cool sunset
    One locked gate
    Two old fritschis
    One unsuspecting knee drop
    Lots of fucking hiking
    Sub par skidding on ice
