There's plenty of snow in Green Valley except maybe at the ridge getting off the chair. Fun day of skiing, stoke among the crowd was very high. Don't bother trying to ski down from the top, nothing goes anymore. "Capacity crowd" was well managed and polite, wait at the GV chair typically 5-8 minutes.

PS Not sure about how to deal with the reservation system, it seems like a crap shoot. Timberline was the same way.

It's been a fun Silver Season -- and busier than past years. I don't recall mogul formation back when we commenced our annual Silver Season pilgrimage in 1992. Heading up again today in a bit. Maybe we'll see some of you up there.

ETA: Silver may well be in shape for solstice, which falls on a Saturday

Really cool to meet a few of y'all out in the wild today. I smugly showed of my museum grade dynafit tourlights only to have part of a toepiece pivot pin shear off somewhere along the track. Thanks for the tape Tim! Got me back to the car without an issue, but I wish I coulda skied the backside with you.

It's the lamest thing, found a big hole skinning on the final bit of uphill to gain the NW ridge of Silver Peak.

Thought I was okay, ankle started aching, readjusted the boot, sent the cornice, did another lap, and then it really started hurting. Thankful the road was clear to just about the continuous snow because walking was hell and taking the boot off had me almost passing out from pain. Then there were all 69,420 potholes on the drive down...

Damn. Heal fast. We avoided those holes yesterday. They open up there every year. We found a more solid skinning line is to climber's left to a spot on the ridge with good access to the backside W aspect slopes down towards Lake Annette (which is melting out fast).

The hole in the snow bridge on the popular steep center descent line to the N is opening up, so we descended the series of small bowls to the NE, hooking left under the waterfall (snow bridge solid there) then traversed to join the steel center descent route. The dirty forest exit is, well, quite dirty. Otherwise pretty good skiing up there.

Just got back from the Birthday tour party. No stoke as I went solo but some good sunset pics were attained as I bivied up high right next to the Blue Peak Col. Saw the TR6 with the top down at the hairpin.

I used the Peak finder app while I was up there where it integrates to the camera. It is sometimes off a bit but still pretty cool
