There was lots of ridiculously good snow outside of the Elevator gate Friday. I followed my nose (i.e. untracked pow) into this mandatory huck. Anybody recognize it? Sorry about the crappy pic.

The first run yesterday at Hyak was killer. Turns were optional down East Peak.

Bottom skiers right of Crown Bowl. Years ago there was a painted wooden crown up on a tree at the top but it fell off after big year in the 90s. We hit that same feature on on Weds, also found good turns skiers left side on friday morning.

Hey there PNWers, we're thinking about pow-chasing from Colorado this coming weekend, but we're wondering if we're crazy, between seattle traffic and rain events, we just don't understand you people. Any advice as to whether this is a good idea?

    thanks!

You've probably looked at the forecast, but at this point it doesn't look the weekend to do that. Freezing levels forecast are well above the parking lot at crustal.

I figured you would know it. Thanks. I think I saw you skiing with mini-Mofro Friday. You were both wearing ski team jackets. MM was on white Kastles, right? I didn’t get close enough to say “hi.”

Skied Stevens today with my blue cruiser kids. Parking still wasn’t full at almost 10:00, which was shocking. Groomers were great and held up really well. Hogsback had a manageable line but every other lift had very short waits, if any. Any of the leftover stashed have now become heavy and consolidated but still made for some fun poking around and looking for scraps. Mostly fun and very little hassle for us today.

My experience on Saturday ended up being surprisingly great considering I almost didnt have a bus to catch due to starline selling tickets at times with no service. The lady from sales and marketing from Crystal was counting cars getting on 410 became aware of this when i showed up over an hour early for my departure time. She ended up giving me and 3 other individuals a ride up in a crystal truck after finding out that starline had no other buses they could send. The woman gave us all instructions on how to receive vouchers and anything else that may be related to these incidences. Im waiting to hear back, but hopefully ill get two vouchers and a lift ticket if i can. She also have us her card incase we have any issues. Turns out starline just forgot to remove those ticket times.

I ended up getting to the mountain at 10:40. The snow pretty much everywhere was fantastic. As the day went on the sunnier bits were getting a bit sticky. There wad plenty of shaded lines with nice stashes of untracked off the beaten main trails. Some of the lower mountain like lower ferks anf dearfly had some deep shaded late day powder.

I feel great out there and notice myself making some big gains in my skiing. Having fullstack showing me around once in a while certainly has help.

Maybe not. Seems like most people in non-government jobs have to work on MLK Day.
