The two inches of fresh at High 2 resort skied surprising well. Was expecting dust on crust, which was the case off piste, but the soft groomers were a welcome change from the “is this spring skiing?” Conditions off late. Also, it was a Gaper’s Paradise today. I swear 95% of the people out today have no idea how to ski but somehow get down the hill. Also, noticed a Peak Day Pass is $111!?!

I wouldn't exactly say it tapered-off, it just got wetter and heavier as the day progressed. But you can finally venture off the groomed track, which is nice. Still precipitating, tomorrow morning could be alright but I'd expect a Jerryboree in the afternoon

The big umbrella was providing soft turns today for Fullstack, a friend of his, and I. Northway was a blast and so was forks. I choose the pursuit of beverage over chair 6, but no regrets there. Solid day that has me excited to see where my skiing will be at the end of the season with how I'm feeling now.

I dont make it up there often but begrudgingly made the drive wanting more than summit west. Some surprisingly good skiing up high, definitely better than dust on crust....I went home happy for sure.

To your other point, the Jerry Chute under 7th Heaven was prime entertainment over and over again. Is it always like that? Couldn't believe how many gave it a go...I guess word got out it was the best snow on the mountain.

Also, saw a poor guy get turned down in the foggy goggle trying to order his second double scotch and soda at lunch because he was exceeding the "2 drinks per hour" quota...since the first was a double. He was not drunk, about 225 and probably could have easily handled another cocktail. He took it well but a sure sign of corporate liability above all else.

Skied for the first time in 2 years today. Can't say I envisioned coming back with night skiing at Summit West.

I expect to see the lot of you at Silver Fir in the morning. Well, hopefully not a lot of you, just those of you I usually see in the lot. Bring shrubbery, our reserves are getting low

Anyone skied Chair 6/High Campbell lately at Crustal? How steep was the PTex donation premium?

Ask fullstack. He hit chair 6 while I was trying to find a table in the lodge by forest queen.

Some avy control was being done on Southback on a basin.

Sampled some Silver Fir today with the boy. Skied much better than expected. Saw the usual suspects lapping the soft snow. No real crowds to speak of, which surprised me. Never waited more than 60 seconds for a chair.

Much hiking was done to find wind f--ed snow. Good times, good views and sunshine.

P tex donation was on a sliding scale increasing hourly as the day went on they also had a pallet contraption with carpet stapled to it which failed at some point in the afternoon as well.
All in all they opened up the South back or whatever it's called being a crystal know nothing and after the slog to the king or silver Basin or Playa or some shit I don't recall and shady aspects skied well, very well. Not blower but better than hot pow.

Unlike my experience on Thursday I found several skiers that were stoked to be there and morale increased greatly definitely made sure to plant some Stoke seeds and do some sprinkling like I was feeding the chickens.

I still prefer alpental but this place is growing on me
