Nah, let’s keep him around. Wish he’d dial up the PNW hate talk more. Helps Keep the lurkers from moving here maybe, and if there is one less car or jabroni in the lift line it’s all worth it.

"Winter" in that context is not meant to be equivalent to "ski season" or even "snowfall season," but rather the season itself.

What kind of season? Astronomical winter starts on winter solstice. But meteorological winter starts December 1. See https://www.timeanddate.com/calendar/aboutseasons.html; https://www.almanac.com/content/first-day-seasons#.

Meteorological winter seems more relevant on a ski thread, no?

I've only got a public school education so bare with me, but under what 3rd grade spectrum is December fucking ninth half way through any definition of 'Winter?'

The bike park should be opening late spring... Which by glademasters calculation should be right around January 3rd. Sweet!!

I wish I could get to paradise. I have the time to go meadow skipping on lines I scouted last year but now way to get there. I'm tempted to do a over night tour to Naches from Crystal maybe in Feb or March.

Anyway, I'll just play Grand Mountain on my phone (actually pretty sweet skiing game) in the mean time.

Paradise to Muir is not that great either. Just embrace it’s a shit season you’re not driving to right now. Go play with your kids, ride a bike around Northbend/Snoqualmie go hike do something outside.

I remember that one. Was a real head scratcher. Was Chinook Pass closed but Cayuse still open in January '15? I recall it was an almost historically bad snow year but don't recall it being open all winter. And Ohanapecosh is usually closed long before then. Those guys were astoundingly lucky.

I'm always amazed that people don't just nut up and backtrack when they pull these moves. But I guess pulling these moves means they aren't too smart to begin with.

It always closes on the exact day when it gets good. The Methowites don't want mossback kooks stealing their pow.

Before 2008 or so, that was sometimes possible. They would keep plowing and watch the chutes. Now, with no money, if it gets remotely interesting, they close it.
