    Lots of rocks
    Little bit of snow
    A few tourons
    One fucking goat
    One cool sunset
    One locked gate
    Two old fritschis
    One unsuspecting knee drop

I don't see how Whistler / Blackcomb could possibly even consider opening on the 28th. They are sitting on a 12cm alpine base with some small amounts of snow over the next few days, but they're going to need a lot more then what's in the forecast. And beyond that the forecast is bleak, with a cold/dry high ridge being established.

The coast has been in a drought since early October, with very few storms... and the storms that have come through have been two warm to deliver snow. Honestly this year both July, and September on their own have been wetter then October and Nov combined. The jet stream simply hasn't been favoring the PNW and BC southern interior this fall as it's been either too warm or too dry and there is no indication of that changing in the next 14 days.

This also doesn't inspire confidence https://weather.gc.ca/data/saisons/i...@lg@sd_000.png

At the moment ocean conditions and weather patterns are eerily similar to 2014/2015; if we don't see a pattern shift into the 2nd week of Dec the holidays are gonna be looking pretty dire. But banking on good conditions in BC for the end of Nov is a coin toss. Usually gets good in Dec, so I'm hoping that will be the case.

Big news - the Crustal snow stake has been removed from storage and is ready to record massive snowfall this weekend.
Most importantly, however, it has been adorned with the new logo.

2" of greasy snot greeted me after SNF on 906 this evening... seems the state has forgotten that clearing it is also their responsibility. Regardless, it was fine once I got a few miles further east. If this is gonna be the beginning, I hope the next wave comes in heavy to bury what will inevitably become a thick layer of facets later this week

Mowed that lawn at Stevens today my rough estimate was about 8-10 of snow depending on where it was loaded from wind.

    November turns (just barely)

What are the units on that stack... it looks bigger then a centimeter, but something makes me think that isn't an inch increment....
    is in Vinches?
    (1.25 vinches = 1 standard inch)

Just looked at the latest Xtal snow stake, stick of truth, and it shows only the number 10, and higher. I'm not sure I trust the stick yet. Will need visual confirmation. Someone get up there, quick!

I forgot this was a ski forum, given the lack of skiing and all. Forecast looking decent (temporarily) for us folks in the land of no sales tax. Hoping to make some turns on Wednesday morning...

Yeah I thought the camera was supposed to make things look bigger.

    But, 11 Vinches and counting...

Will there be skiing on Turkey Day to watch from beneath the southern umbrella?

Saw some folks making turns on the golf course by headlamp tonight. Seemed a bit premature but then again I know some folks who had a great time snosk8'n the summer road a bit further East this afternoon so it's hard to say. Heard there's 9-10" at the top of Pacific Crest and a Baker's foot of new @ the top of the padded seats
