Something you never say to a Millenial . . .

Have you gained a little weight, or do you want your pants to fit that way?

Every generation is sucked into social media it's just easy to pretend that we aren't read a great article a little while ago about how boomers are most gullible when it comes to online stuff vs millenials who can sniff out a scam or bullshit news in a second

Adopting new technology as gets more difficult as you age. Things like social media sites tried to make it easier for them to join in, but in a lot of cases it just made them easier to phish, scam, and extort. There is a reason that such criminal enterprises focus on the older generations as their prime targets.

The newer generations, for better or worse, have grown up with the internet. It shouldn't be a surprise that there is a higher rate of tech-savvy people among them.

The Nigerian Prince scam is one example I can think of.

True. It should also be pointed that a big reason that these social media companies got so powerful and you can say whatever you want on them is Section 230 of the communications decency act which classifies them as “platforms” not media companies. They have gotten so powerful that they don’t even mind being called “social media” companies not social platforms. Section 230 dates back to the 90s and was never updated by baby boomers in the years since.

It's going to be interesting to see what differentiates Gen. Y from Gen. Z.

"Get those goddamned gauges out of your ears and get to work"

"Get the fuck off that Lime scooter and walk your ass somewhere"

"No, you can't go hide when there is work to do even though you feel overwhelmed"

And quit fucking starting every sentence with "I feel that we should....I should, etc."

So I guess this is the thread for people who don't have enough real friends to do what always has been done:
Hang out at McDonald's from 7am to 10am while bitching about the current state of things with a complete lack of self reflection

I think social media is destructive enough across all age groups. Old fucks sure aren't immune from it.
