I've seen way too many prepper shows that all say you could totally drink urine if there is no other water available. It's sea water that they said to take rectally IIRC..
Healthy urine is not toxic.[12] However, it contains compounds eliminated by the body as undesirable, and can be irritating to skin and eyes. After suitable processing it is possible to extract potable water from urine.[citation needed]

Go that way really REALLY fast. If something gets in your way, TURN!

Copper would not work well at all. It's too good of a conductor to generate any real heat - you'd just be shorting out and draining your batteries in the quickest possible way.
What you'd need is a bunch of resistors, attached all along the hose. Resistors do their job by generating heat, and would prevent the batteries from draining too quickly.
However, while I haven't done the math, I think you'd need to carry a whole bunch of batteries (wild-ass guess: a dozen D cells...?) to generate enough heat, for any extended period (which is perhaps why heated hydro packs don't seem to exist...?).

The water bottle group knows what they're talking about. 2 half liter Nalgenes plus a thermos for me (small bottles pack better). Never freeze up, no soaked puffy jackets, etc.

I use one of these:
I keep it on my shoulder strap in a skimo bottle holder as my wife demonstrates here:
I keep another bottle in my pack and swap them out when this one is empty. I start the day with hot fluids, and in single digit temps, the shoulder strap bottle will still be liquid for >5 hrs. The bottle in my packs is still warm/hot when I swap it out.

^^^ nice setup. BC skiing it's no big deal to be taking off packs and doing zippers, etc. The best thing about a bladder during hunting season is that it's quiet if you are trying to sneak up on some game.

I am a man, but I wear one of those bras with the wine bladder in them, and store some candy bars and fruit (as well as my man tits) in the cups. Everything stays thawed and easily accessible, plus my figure looks fantastic and it really feels supportive.

don't overthink this.
get a pack with a bladder sleeve against your back.
blow the water back through hose into the bladder after you drink
then squeeze the little mouthpiece to make sure there's none left in there.
If you forget to do this and the hose ices up, thread hose under shoulder strap for a few minutes to thaw.
never have to break stride.
Osprey makes the best bladder systems imo. I use the 3L one year round.
Carry a bottle in reserve.

to add: that's my jam for day trips.
expeditions and multi-day adventures usually rock nalgenes.

Unless you're the last one to the top, then you have to figure out how to have eaten your snack, drank your water, and transitioned before reaching the top. Otherwise you get dirty looks from the faster person who has made tea, eaten a deli sandwich, and taken photos. It is best to take an extra 30 minutes to do all of this where they can't see you, then side step the last bit to the top and drop in before they finish their tea.

Interbike demo day at boot leg canyon back in the day where you could try any type of bike made, sample 6 kinds of energy drinks but there was NO water and all that energy drink was kinda sickly when suddenly a fairly hot woman appears out of no where in a leopardskin bikini top, she is inviting us for free beers and hotdogs
it was not a desert apparition it was a marketing ploy cuz her husband was trying to market a water bladder very similar to what came in a dakine Apex hydration pack with a built-in gelpack so buddy gave us refrigerated water bladders to demo which was fuckign cool (literaly) cuz it was awesume to find any water let alone cold !
so I bought one, that blue slushy stuff you find in reusable ice packs was built into the wall of the bladder, thro it in the freezer fill up with water, cold water stays colder, the guy with the hot wife who sold it to me said if you get the bladder pack warm hot choclate in the winter was awesum which I never tried.
eventualy after a number of years I noticed the blue stuff was leaching slowly into the bladder so I quit using it but there you go ... a heated or cooled hydration systemLee Lau - xxx-er is the laziest Asian canuck I know
