Huge lobster roll fan. Not so big on the whole lobster deal.

^ x2 on the lobster roll thing.
But I'd sooner take a decent bowl of clam chowder over a full lobster.

I do’nt mind a lobster roll (CT style obviously), but getting the whole thing is to much work.

If you eat it at a restaurant it’s overrated. If you’re eating lobster on an island, it’s wicked awesome, bub.

Does being able to afford a lobster dinner at a nice restaurant make you wealthy, or upper middle class?

Pigs taste good, too.
I miss Novembers on the north coast. We'd get together for Abalone diving, and the weather and water would be the best - clear and warm and gorgeous sunsets with the green flash. Someone would come up from down south with lobsters, someone else would pick up a big bag of oysters from Hog Island, we would get Mussels off the rocks.. We ate like fucking kings and queens.

Reds has the reputation of having one of, if not the, best lobster rolls in Maine. I've had it a couple of times, and I'd definitely put it up there - tons of meat, freshly picked and made, nicely grilled bun. Their fried clams are A+ too.
Most lobster rolls are meh though, even in Maine. I'd say 80% of the ones you buy are frozen lobster meat, which loses its flavor and texture. And most are ridiculously small for what you pay. The best way to ensure a good lobster roll is to buy freshly picked meat from the local market, butter up a top-split bun and griddle it, mix the lobster with just a bit of melted butter or mayo (both equally valid), and make it yourself. Still not cheap, but you're virtually guaranteed for it to be awesome.
I grew up in Maine so I'm statutorily required to prefer lobster. But I recently discovered king crab legs, and damn - definitely gives lobster a run for its money, especially given the amount of meat in a single leg versus an entire lobster.Outlive the bastards - Ed Abbey

As an adopted Delawarean, I should be singing the praises of crab, but I enjoy a great roll and lobster-mac.
Both crab and lobster are too big of a PIA when served whole. It makes perfect sense...until you think about it.
I suspect there's logic behind the madness, but I'm too dumb to see it.
