To me, lobster is up there with oysters, razor clams, hogfish and salt water stripped bass for culinary kings of the sea.
Next in line are things like king crab, halibut, fluke, grouper, red snapper, tuna, mahi, scallops and little neck clams.
Abalone, yellow tail, eel and albacore are my sushi/humaci/sashimi favorites.
Yummy, I love the sea

Abalone is actually see like a sea snail with a lot of meat and you have to free dive for them in dangerous cold water which make them kind of rare to get. I have tried but not been successful but that is cause aI am not that strong of a free diver but I have some friend that are in Northern California and it is always a treat.
Agreed on fresh good scallop

We're super lucky on the scallops, the biggest scallop port in the world, by far, is New Bedford and that's just down the road. There's also bay scallops, little guys about the size of the last joint of your little finger. Incredible when fresh, like raw straight out of the water fresh or in ceviche or just barely sauteed. They have a really short season, which is right now. Very unpredictable, last year was the best year in 30 years in our town, this year there seems to be almost none.

Don't get me wrong, I do love just about any seafood. (but Spiny's are better than Maine's, and Dungy's are better than Blues, and Lobster tacos in Baja are better than rolls in New England) But there was something special about Abalone diving. Gorgeous and sometimes fucking scary and ass kicking tough most of the time. But the pay off was amazing and sometimes you would actually find a pearl to go with an incredible plate of food. And now it's over and probably won't happen again in my life. But it was great while it was here.

It's close but I put both rock and Maine lobster just a bit above king crab. Both are delicious though. Clams and Mussels are good too but only COOKED! Not going to eat any raw meat of any kind, especially seafood.
What's the majority opinion on crawdads? Better than frog legs, yes or no??Go that way really REALLY fast. If something gets in your way, TURN!

They aren't very similar in my opinion. Frog legs are very mild and in fact, taste like lean chicken. Crawdads have some fishiness to them. I love em. Both that is but frog legs have to be fried imo. Crawdads can go a number of ways.
A crawdad po boy is superior to the lobster roll.
They are really just little cousins that live in the south.

That’s pretty G. I’ve had my share of pincher wounds just wrangling sport pots and dem fuckers will make you have a bad day if they catch ya. Fun activity and even better eating.
No butter or cracker needed.
