    They don't....I double-checked.
It makes perfect sense...until you think about it.

I suspect there's logic behind the madness, but I'm too dumb to see it.

WMI doesn't have the same ring to it though.

An entire museum dedicated to belly button lint? Wow, the Brits do love their museums!

A lot to see and do.
    good tips above.
I would go to Craven Cottage and see a match. Cheaper and more accessible than a lot of the large PL grounds. Plus the bar near there is named for a US player.

I think the WMI is akin to the McRib.

My point was taking a perhaps off-putting name and reducing it to an acronym.

But it does bring me to the point that I had a filet 'o fish a couple days ago, the first time in over 30 years, honest.

It was fucking delicious, and I don't think I'll ever order anything else different from a McD again.

I'm by no means an expert but the coolest thing that I've done in London is take a day trip to Cambridge and take a walking tour from the local tourist info center. The architecture and history at that place is incredible and it's small enough that you can get a good feel for the place in a day. Oxford is similarly doable as a day trip out of the city and has a very similar history and architecture. I liked Cambridge better for no particular reason.

If it's your first time in London, the hop on hop off bus will give you a good lay of the land.

I'm usually not really into museums but I thought Tate Modern was pretty incredible. I recall enjoying the Science Museum but that was 20 years ago and I don't think that's how I'd spend half a day if you only have 3 days and it's your first time in London...

Even if you dont like museums the reading room of the british museum is a very cool room, where marx wrote das capital. The exhibit hall of the british library has cool things--guttenberg bible, magna carta, the lyrics to Yesterday on an envelope.

+1 on the hop on/off bus tour. put some beers in a backpack and relax on board. but also take the time to walk the loop by the Thames between London Bridge and Westminster, all the good stuff is there. For museums the IWM, National Gallery, and Tate Modern Art are cool. Tate is free IIRC. They also have some interesting performances there. A walk through the financial district with the modern buildings is really cool too if you like architecture.

Definitely go to a concert if you can, especially if something good playing at a venue like Royal Albert Hall or Hyde Park. The O2 in Kentish Town is awesome too. https://www.songkick.com/metro_areas/24426-uk-london

EDIT: i got a bunch of false credit card charges after my last trip. i will only pay in cash now around town.

The filet o fish is the only thing I’ve ordered from McD’s in the past 20 years, and usually only during lent fish fry season when they’re advertised a bunch. You’re right, they’re fucking great.

Pro tip: get double the cheese so it covers the whole filet and not just half. Then scrape off most of the tartar.

And TR is right, when ordering the filet o fish in England make sure they hold the butter and walnuts.

Oh yeah. Fun fact, the filet o fish was born out of a bet between a Cincinnati franchisee and Ray Croc on what would sell more on fridays when burger sales in large catholic populations like Cincinnati would tank: the filet o fish or a pineapple sandwich called the Hula Burger.

The filet won handily and was added as the first non burger regular menu item.

When we were last in London the hop off on buses traveled slower than walking. Maybe it’s better now, we were there before congestion pricing.
