I’d say 3 Rolex 24s in a row qualifies you as a badass.

Damn, that was one hell of a finish to the 12 Hours of Sebring.

BMW takes out the leading Vette in GTLM with 3 minutes left (insert BMW driver joke here) that allowed the #79 Porsche 911 RSR that led most of the day to take the win to make it 4 Sebrings in a row for Porsche.

Crazy action all day in DPi and GTD (Lamborghini taking out the Merc I swore would bring out fisticuffs).

Love that I can start a race with my coffee, do the kids soccer and golf, go out to lunch and everything else in the day and still come home to watch the final few hours of racing while making dinner. IMSA does a nice job on their mobile access.

Very cool news: Porsche and Penske team up for the new LMDh hypercar class which will run in both WEC and IMSA, marking Porsche's return to the top class in sports cars since the world-beater 919.

Le 24h is running now. I know what I’ll have on later this evening.

    https://www.24h-lemans.com/en

Toyota is dominating the new Hypercar class early and fuck me if those C8R Vettes aren’t out in front again in the GTLM Pro class. Those things can run.

    Let’s go Porsche.

Cool to see all the IMSA Teams make the trip which goes to further the idea that we will see much more crossover between IMSA amd WEC next year.

Toyota Gazoo Racing is a boss. 1-2 overall.

Ferrari takes the GTLM class and GTE Am. Big day for them.

Corvette then Porsche round out top GTLM. Have to think Ford makes the jump back in next year after watching Corvette eat their lunch all over the globe in sportscar racing.

I am excited about the hydrogen fuel cell tech they said is coming to Le Mans by 2025 That will be super cool. This electric crap is silly. Hydrogen is the way.

The IMSA Championship at Petit LeMans at Road Atlanta going on right now, 4 weeks and a time change later than normal due to the pandemic. Lots of cold tires and big time drivers. Worth a look for the best kind of racing there is if your college ball is over. NBCSN.

    Lol MT.

BIG race today, season kicks off with the Rolex24. Huge names as always, crazy cold and windy in Florida, and 5 classes of the best racing on the planet.

10 hours down, 14 to go.

The freezing temps are really fucking with the tires and traction down there.

So blown away by the insane level of talent assembled here from F1, IMSA, Indy and NASCAR drivers all on the same track. Shit, the #60 Acura has 5 Indy 500 championships behind the wheel, including the reigning champ.

Porsche has been running 1-2 in GTD PRO for the last few hours until this current caution. Hope they get back on top when they restart.

HOLY SHIT what a finish in GTD Pro! The #9 and #2 911s were trading paint right till the checkered flag dropped!

Also, Helio Castroneves is a fucking machine. Won last year’s Rolex24 in the Wayne Taylor DPi, then went and won the Indy 500 for a record tying 4th time then comes back and wins this Rolex24 in a different ride.

Lambo to enter the new Hypercar LMDh Prototype class in 2024.

    https://www.topgear.com/car-news/mot...eVbOth49Aba2i8

This new class is bringing all the big boys off the sidelines. Confirmed manufacturers now include:

Acura, Audi, BMW, Cadillac, Porsche, Alpine and Lambo.

I realize F1 is an entirely different animal, but IMSA/WEC is (has been IMO) shaping up to be the most exciting form of racing on the planet.

Final 2 hours of the 24h of Le Mans is on Motor Trend right now.

Looks like only a few big moves since I checked before going to bed and Toyota is still dominating the overall - again.

    Toyota Gazoo Racing is incredible.

Five (5) straight fucking overall 24h of Le Mans titles. That’s unheard of. They’re light years ahead of the rest of the hypercar field joining next year.

Big, big day for my fav Porsche with 1st in LM GTE PRO (in addition to their 1st at the Rolex24), and the Weathertech 911 taking 2nd in GTE AM.

Notable 5th for the 911 of Dempsey-Proton Racing. I tell ya, that Dr. McSomething can sure drive/field a team.

75° and sunny for a fantastic 25th anniversary of the running of Petit Le Mans today at Road Atlanta - enjoyed thoroughly with my mini me.

(Last 30 mins on USA now)

Final year for the top class DPi Prototypes and holy shit are they racing like it. The top 2 Cadillacs (running 1, 2 overall) just took each other out going 100+mph into turn 1 in hour 9 of racing!

That GTD Lexus and the DPi Caddy took each other out right in front of us in the esses- the Caddy, an overall favorite caught fire. Both drivers ok.

The 9 GTD Pro “Plaid Porsche” (notice the Canuck red flannel pattern - their fans are amazing) locked up its second consecutive season title (running with factory support this season till Porsche brings back the 911 and 912 factory cars next year - along with the new 963 Hypercar)

Such a well done event. Back to more than full strength from covid with all the manufacturers bringing out all the stops.

    Can’t wait for next year.
