Looking at these for touring, thoughts? Anybody ski newer light version. They are red!!!

I have a pair in the basement- deciding on bindings- thinking the new Fritschi Xenic. Will let you know when I get them out on the hill. Not much out there in detailed beta, and I'm certainly not the skier to make significant observations. I'm really looking forward to them though- the 183 is the perfect length for me.

ETA: I'm expecting to reduce my lap time on the local tour hill by a couple minutes owing to the redness.

I have recently bought some and mounted them with ATK Crests, haven't skied them yet but have skied both the Corvus Freebird and Orb Freebird and was very impressed with both which is what made me commit to the Camox.

They rip, even after dropping 300g per ski from the old version.

What about sizing. I have 185-192 pow skis. Everyone says shorter to tour but these are pretty center mounted. 183 or 188? I’m 6-2 175 tour the Unitas

Friend of mine is 6'1" and got the 188s, hoping the light rocker makes them ski more like a 183.

They are light and have exact same shape and profile as all mountain Corvus. Just narrower with more sidecut

Purchased them last spring. Paired with G3 LTs and am a fan of the setup. Using them as my spring corn ski in the PNW. I’m 6’4”/230. I would say the 188 is good for anyone over 6’. They’re light and poppy, really fun ski in the spring here. Could see them being a daily ski with lighter snow but I opt for ON3P’s for the variable snow I typically ski. The camox does get kicked around in crud but I’m pretty sure any lighter ski would.

Only thing I would change is the binding. I’m a fan of the Ion but the LT’s twist in the heel while turning. Never pre-released but also not a confidence inspiring feeling.

Mount point thoughts? The marking is pretty progressive, I'm usually a fan of traditional mounting on touring skis for ease of kick turns and ski balance. I was thinking about mounting back.

The Camox mount line is same as my Corvus and shape is the same in camber and rocker. I like Corvus on line and will mount Camox on the line

3g difference between skis and 2 with xenics. Airy feeling under the metal in the topsheet. Test of time will tell but theyre looking like theyll handle differing conditions.

Two days out on mine. Today was 9-12" blower at Kootenay pass. I'm 190 lbs on a 183 and i was flying uphill and they floated remarkably well for a 96-waist ski. I'm a big fan.

Thats what i like to hear! Hoping for that same effect. Nike runners on the up and water skis down. Mine are the 172.2's

Looking at the 172 as well. I will only ski them with a Alien RS and my 177 Mtn Explore 95 is both unnecessaryly stiff and i find the tip hooky so looking for a change.

I should get out on them at the end of the week. The closest recent ski that ive had would probably be mh praxis yeti at 94 underfoot. Ill report back if anything standout.

I used Camox Freebird once and all I can say is, it is OK. But I think this is also because I am used to using my Atomic Bent Chetler 120 Ski.

I got my 188s w/ ION LT out for the first time recently on a 6mi tour with boot deep fresh to chopped pow to soft bumps. Man they fly uphill. They ski an awful lot like the normal Camox (which is my inbounds ski), but the lower swing weight is really noticeable. They can billy goat all over the place and I too found them to float well. I have to imagine they'll be killer Spring skis.

Same here. Nice having some feather weights on the up again. Floaters on the down too. Pleasantly surprised. Only one day so far but i can see me grabbing them more than i thought

Sorry Thom, theyre keepers unless on3p makes another steeple 102 a fair bit lighter. Thought you might have found some after i saw your ld ad

Nice! Hope you like them. They even handled a bit of wind pressed snow well without issue. Id like a few more days before they get the full pass and even more days to see how durable they are. The ease to turn the screws after i was through the metal was unnerving but i havent turned a screw into an ul ski with metal before
