    Powsurfing, Bindingless Snowboarding...

    Hi All,

Anyone planning to ride some bindingless Powsurfers this season?
    ...old or new pow addicts?

I am definitely looking forward to some sweet, deep powdery days.

I’d have to agree that when the conditions allow and you can ‘drop the leash’ nothing beats a sweet NoBoard run.

Good technique is synonymous with good style. No style , no shred .

There are a few of us here. We've got a couple of Grassroots boards to choose from. Beats the fuck out of meadow skipping on an elevated avy day

This is the last no board run I did a few years back. The mountain is called Fishes Breath. 3000' wall of pow.
    (or so we hoped)

The approach on snow shoe is so weird because I'm used to skinning.

Getting closer. It took about three hours to the top

Nice lunch at the top, my buddy Thom with backside of Ragged Top in background

    Getting ready to drop in!

Still frame from Go Pro but you can see the run to the valley. Wind blown and pretty challenging up high.

You know what is a very bad feeling? Crashing on a god damned no board on the side of a giant face and just standing there on two feet, no skis. Serious handicap , no bueno

Good snow down low, horrible slog back to the truck under huge terrain trap at heat of the day.

Nice, great to see a few have decided to "freed-the-bind." I have evolved over the past decade or so until now where about 60%-70% of my backcountry riding is on Powsurfer - as long as the season has good enough snow . I just ordered a Grassroots Splitsurfer, so that number may go up this season.

    Well deserved, very cool vid.

I was wondering how long he spent slogging up that hill, but yhe wnd makes it seem much more doable.

I bought a Grassroots pow surfer about two years ago... haven't used it all that much but have really enjoyed it when I have. And I agree it's more fun than meadow skipping on skis when snowpack conditions are sketchy.

    No slogging with a snowmobile

With that sled especially. I doubt he has a hard time finding shuttle buddies.

What video? I like snowskating because I can get in and out of pow stashes in the resort instead of hiking in and out of powder field....

However, I’m looking to get one of the powsurf. It was a blast last couple of times I tried.

Powsurfing makes you feel like a kid again. You can absolutely eat shit. Once you have a few soul arches under your belt, you're hooked. When push comes to shove, I like getting out in the snow with my friends and sharing some smiles more than anything else. Powsurfing can get this done. The Burton DIY works just fine and doesn't cost much $.
