1st place I skied out west was LL & SSV. Mind blown I moved to Utah 3 years later.

    Thanks for that link.
I have been in this State for 30 years and I am willing to admit that I am part of the problem.

So... generally what's the best time of year to ski the Bow Valley for coverage, quality & quantity of fresh snow? Late Feb/early March?

    Asking for... a friend.

Oh, I'm well aware of that... my home hills are in the Front Range.

But my friend likes to have *most* of the hill open. You know - for options. And who doesn't love cold, dry, huge quantities of snow?

most of the hill is open by Xmass?

    can be colder in Jan/Feb

After easter is a good bet, as its still 100% winter (high elevation, lots of N facing and far north)

Is it like down here where *most* of the hill is open... except for the "good" stuff?

This may be the right call... hmmm... and now to begin scheming.

Fantastic video to get pumped for the winter. It's so great to see clips at local mountains.

It can get brutal cold mid winter in Banff. When the cold snaps arrive it is always colder and lasts longer in Alberta vs B.C. March and April are the best time to visit as Springtime in the Rockies really is a thing. I don't know if they still offer it but in the past Ski the Big 3 have offered a Spring Pass, good March and April.

Lake Louise is not known as a powder mountain but it has excellent snow preservation and some of the best terrain in Canada....and some of the best scenery in the world.
