Kinda. not to take anything away from it, but the most amazing thing about it was the thought process that went into figuring it out. It was super impressive to go over the coolie but he made that easy and then cleared all the rocks easy too. I guess my point is, he cleared everything easy, but was the only one to see it was possible. It didn't look like he had to put it balls to the wall and hope for the best to get over it like in the Bimboes crossing.

Do they get to do any on-course inspection in the 4* FWQ events? Or did he send that just based on pictures / staring at it with binoculars?

seems like it's pretty available to ski if it's allowed other times of the year. Also it's a 3* too and they may get on course if 4* doesn't. Beautiful face compared to some of the fwt events. Check out the 2nd pic here for the coolie he crossed (also notice all the buried traverse tracks right under the face in the 1st pic)

Well I clicked that link and no American is ever going to ski there it only boasts 2,5cm of annual snowfall.

He certainly would. Yu on the other hand chooses to gap the grass instead of riding it.

Either way, I hope the men are able to scale back their expectations so that Kicking Horse - esque carnage is avoided.

This does not look promising. They had bad conditions in Andorra last year too, correct? I’m petitioning for a stop in Alaska again.

Sounds like they're waiting for snow. Conditions must be pretty grim.

From the Yuge Sasaki instagram post it looked like the base is about 20". Coverage will be minimal. now add in the light dusting of snow they just recieved to lightly cover up shallow rocks, and you have a recipe for absolute disaster.
