So mind blowing I don’t even have to click the link to know which run you’re talking about.

Gerritzen was just overscored. partly I think because she stuck the cliff that patterson had just fallen on. But then Paaso went almost twice as big as her and stomped it and had no backslaps plus two big airs up top. She should have easily been 10 points over Gerritzen (but the difference was only 2) who should have come in behind Hotter and Pollard, all IMO of course.

also, they have the replay up on the site now with the cool links. regarding the length of the live broadcast I was totally fine with it. I was surprised to have the ability to easily go back and look at previous runs with an obvious and functional 'back to live' link right there. That took care of any dead air time.

Seems like there's an incentive for the fwt to end up at shittier venues. Places with lesser terrain are more eager to highlight their skiing and will pay for the comp to go there. Places with great terrain maybe don't need to pay the comp to go there because everyone already knows about the skiing there.

The funny thing about watching this run is that after a couple of cruxes where he hit cliffs/double stagers I kept thinking he was just going to cruise into the finish, then he would hit another zone. That is a crazy venue.

I had the same thought and was wondering why this is a FWQ instead of FWT.

Holy shit, that one crash is fucked. No wonder they cancelled it - watching multiple crashes on that face would have been terrifying. I remember Fieberbrunn being tough to watch one year with a bunch of gnarly crashes in ski mens but that Obergurgl face is so much more exposed.

Fornel-Prat the police officer bailing at the end of his run is almost too much to bear. Cringe worthy stuff again! His run was so cool.

    Yu deserved better.

Malakov looked like his head was elsewhere right fr om the start. At least she said yes.

Pollard again, dude is finding his groove on the FWT.

I agree with the laments about general lack of burliness to recent venues. But Andorra is usually a pretty good combo of burl and freestyle. What was it about this year that made it seem so short and lame? Was it a different and lower start? Where was Smoothy's Garden in relationship to this years venue? Was it lookers left or what?

I was entertained but really, it was an extraordinarily lame comp I gotta say. I would rather watch that than any other sporting event but I agree with the consensus on repetitiveness. It seemed like the contest came down to who could flash a couple tricks off the same hits.

    Slemett is for real.

So is Turdell who is scrapping his way to good season.

Bilous is a maniac. His interview is awesome.

It will be interesting to see how things play as the season moves to legit big venues.

Not sure how this plays out on the website's fantasy thing, but there is talk of restaging the mens snowboard from andorra in fieberbrunn so just a heads up in case you need to make/change pics.

snow level is going to be medium. something like 2m snowpack. this is advanced armchairing as i am 100km west of the face and havent been in this area all winter. winter was mellow here - always warm temps after snowfall, there might be a hard rain-hightemp-crust in the snowpack from february. the last snowfalls on top fell always with major wind events. it is a bit warm right now and temp jojo till sunday. so it´s not blower. 10cm fresh till sunday.
so for sure variable and from spot to spot different.

During the lull between ski men and the non start of snowboard men there was talk about another face that they could have used, that was higher and closer to the ridgeline. Im assuming that was the normal venue and this was a bad weather one?
