    Mushrooms are good.

Looks like Aon Flux from the old MTV days.

New album is killer, he’s the real deal. As far as the anime goes, he lived in Japan when he was in the Navy. Loves that stuff.

I lasted about 15 minutes. The synchronized-dancing female minions didn't do it for me...

Been a fan for a while, seen him live a few times.
not a huge fan of the sound since Laur Joamets left, which is too bad as I loved last 3 albums and tours.

there are some good songs in here, the album itself seems a bit to out there for me, but good on him doing what he wants, not what I do.

I truly wasn't expecting that. Post apocalyptic titty/battle mech country line dancing ftw! Lol

That Turbo Killer vid dookey67 posted is pretty badass! FF to 1:20 and it drops hard.

The Sturgill Simpson was great too.

Was not aware of this new music trend, I can dig it!

And here's the full vid, not just the trailer:

Fwiw, he sold out 2 Bay Area gigs this week. One at Terrapin Crossroads in San Rafael, the other at The Independent in SF...

Sturgil's current musical shift reminds me of how Shooter Jennings flipped his own script by moving away from Outlaw Country first with the Stephen King collab Black Ribbons in 2010 and then his Giorgio Moroder tribute Countach in 2016...

Nice!!! You HAVE to give us a follow-up to tell us all about it. For real. Sound & Fury is so rocking. I'd love to hear the set in person. Especially that first jam on the film. The way it starts out is so badass.

+1. I'm a big fan of Sturgill. Started listening at Metamodern Sounds but it was really Sailor's Guide to Earth that sealed the deal for me.

I'm tempted to go to his show in SLC, but I hate dropping big money on concerts - I usually try to keep it $30 or less. Very tempted though.

The Adams Center is the fucking worst venue I have ever been to. Do NOT plan to drink beer there, you have to leave the room and go into a stupid ass auxiliary gym with massive lines. Bring a flask or whatever instead. Plus last time I was there it was about 108 degrees inside...in the winter.

Other than that, I am sure it will be swell. I don't think I can see Sturgill again because the last time he was here was at the Wilma (as good as any 1200-person venue in the country) but it was election night 2016 and it was clear Trump had won by the time the show started, so now I have Sturgill-related PTSD.

    Sorry for ranting.

love Sturgill and Tyler ( actually not a huge fan of new album, Yourn is the worst song yet it ends up on Sirius and public radio) but dont think either is worthy of the cost or size upgrade to big arenas.

If you dig the anime in the "Sound and Fury" video, I highly recommend this:

Also, it seems like Sturgill has kicked off a neo-trend with the whole abstract anime music video:

"Man, we killin' elephants in the back yard..."

Did you go to the show or was it cancelled/postponed?

Postponed until May 10th, but likely to not happen then either. We shall see.
