Do you guys have hobo spiders down there?

I got bit by one on the lower leg way back in the 90’s and it looked similar before forming a scab that fell off only to ooze massive amounts of the nastiest thick brown puss ever. Like a disgusting huge zit.

You ever seen a centipede bite? Never got one but when I lived in Maui I saw a few. They look like zippers cause the little fuckers keep biting as they move.

There isn't much pronto you can do for spider bites other than black widow. Either the skin will necrose (turn black and die) in which case it will need to be debrided (the dead tissue cut away) or it won't. A lot of people get antibiotics because the redness looks like infection but usually its not infected and antibiotics do no good.

Yeah, I've seen one... on my damn elbow. It looked like what you had - 2 fang marks with localized tissue necrosis and bruise. But it swelled and hurt like it was burning my arm off.

Didn't help that the locals were shitting themselves, going on about how I was gonna be laid up with Javan ague for a month and they were gonna have to find something else to do...It was a lot worse than a bee sting, but didn't cost them any money.

Got burnt by tomcat beetles too. They don't bite or sting, just fall out of trees on you and release a blistering agent that'll give you a 2nd degree burn if you can't wash it off quick.

Then there's the pico pico tree in South America...Makes a seedpod full of itch dust that will drive hard men insane. Some dickhead cracked one open in a Travelall. We hit the side and 5 of us flopped in a 2' deep crocodile and anaconda swamp covered with duckweed and started rolling and flailing in the 100-degree water and mud like Ricky Bobby caught fire. Then we almost mud-drowned Dickhead asking if he thought it was still funny...Then we made him yardsale the entire fucking ancient truck and wash and clean inside and out like it was showing at Pebble Beach. While he was at it, we made him gather up our swampy clothes to pressure wash at his fucking cousin's car wash before he took them to the hotel laundry.

All in all, pretty sure Jose would rate that pico pico prank a negative. But it bonded us all for the rest of the job, with Joselito Dickhead as crew bitch.
