Tenet - New Christopher Nolan Film

Have now seen the incredibly ambiguous teaser trailer for Tenet twice in the theaters. I believe the first time was back in July and I just saw it again this past Wed.

It's the type of trailer I dig as it gave absolutely nothing away.

They also have not put anything online, other than an equally ambiguous website.

I just hope they keep the mystery going.

Gonna be hard to avoid spoilers and media hype, though, as the film doesn't drop for another 10 months!

Theatrical roll out in 35mm, 70mm, and IMAX.

Part of me thinks it might be a sequel to Inception, but that's just a wild guess based on the trailer.

And here I thought it would be a political drama about George Tenet, Bush's whatever/whatever and yellow cake uranium.

I would like to see an action porn flick based on Valerie Plame's life, however.

    Excited about this.

Nolan is one of a very few directors that hasn't really directed a bad movie. (Ok, maybe 1 or 2 were just ok).

Ok, it looks bad ass, but he has to be shark the jumping on this one; every Movie he's done has used a time theme

    Disappointing.
strange experience with this one. Rented it at red box with a free code and kept falling asleep watching it, rewinding it and falling asleep again. Made no sense, although I get the premise of time and space in it.
then, I get involved with this chick and keep it for 2 extra nights, still need to watch from the start until the end. looks like a trippy flick.
Bacon tastes good. Pork chops taste goood.

I paid $154 to rent out an entire theater back in Nov and watched it solo.
I enjoyed it for the most part, but it struck me in the same way that Inception did: didn't think it was incredible, but have a feeling that a second viewing will reveal more and be more entertaining.

One thing that it did do was reveal that Christopher Nolan is the thinking person's Michael Bay...

Only other takeaway was that the sound mix was loud and distracting with quite a bit of the dialogue being drowned out by the accompanying action.

The sound was so awful that I can’t believe Nolan would release it like that without there being some rationale behind the lousy mix. But I didn’t really understand what was going on, so the sound was the least of my worries.
Charlie, here comes the deuce. And when you speak of me, speak well.

Here are a coupla articles about the shitty sound mix in Tenet.
One hypothesizes that Nolan makes the mix loud and muddy so that audiences are forced to pay attention and thus immerse themselves in the film more...

Watched it again with sub-titles and my enjoyment of the film increased markedly.

Some dude compressed Tenet onto Game Boy Advance, creating the anti-IMAX experience:

Watched Tenet last night on DVD. Overall liked it, but still digesting/pondering the story.

FYI the DVD has a second disk with a Making of Tenet feature...
