I wish him luck and hope his donor is an extremely good match. I would assume he didn't have a sibling with the same parents and blood type. My wife died from MDS. Not fun.

One of the smoothest skiers I've ever watched on film. He was super smooth in the 90's while skiing on them cocktail stirrers even.

I wish him the very best. I have a friend that a few years ago battled this type of cancer successfully.

If anyone has the strength and wisdom to manage this properly it’s the Gaffneys.
    I’ll be expecting good news.

Bummer news for sure. Apparently none of brothers were a match, but 2 other donors were found.

Was pretty crushed when I first heard this. Robb is one of the nicest guys out there, and a hell of an athlete too.

On the bright side, having one of my favorite skiers show his mortality in a non skiing/BASE Jumping way is something.

Heal up Robb! You've got this!

Robb is among my favorite skiers to watch, and I still have my VHS copy of "Walls of Freedom" that I wore out from watching so many times as a kid. Looks like watching Walls and 1999 will be on the to-do list this week.

Hate fuck that cancer and kick it out the door without cab fare home!

So hope he pulls through, I donated. Squaw/ Tahoe/ Skiing doesn't need to loose another person who's brought so much stoke.
TLDR; Ski faster. Quit breathing. Don't crash.

    Wishing you the best Robb.

Of anyone you know the best possible outcome. Your connections in the medical field and your knowledge of medicine will certainly help you through this.

    Stay strong.

Best of luck to Gaffney. People do beat this shit and come back strong to skiing etc.

I met a guy a few years back in Rocky Mountain NP skiing who was back in his first day of BC skiing after the whole bone marrow transplant.
