    waaaaayyyyy pre-'96.

Dan Evans? Dixie Lee Ray? Merilee Rush? Paul Revere & the Raiders? Only one floating bridge? Frederick & Nelson? And what was that drag club on 2nd Ave before drag clubs were a hipster thing? Let's get serious here.

The integration busing in Seattle public schools started long before that. My MIL was bussed to Broadview Thompson from the southend and they tried to flip the bus over when she got there. This was in the early 60s

Art Oberto was a great guy... I played soccer with his grandson. The whole team would go to games on his 50ft tour bus

In the early 60s it was Broadview Elementary (built 1914) and RH Thompson Jr. (built 1962). Originally two separate schools. I went to both. We did have busing - I recall a total of 5 black students in my elementary but not any protests or violence one of the bused students was a good friend of mine. We used to do sleep overs at each others house. We had black teachers so it couldn't have been that bad.
