    Jeopardy thread- LETITSNOW

Im confused by the whole set up. Ken said last night this is an exhibition game for those three. Did they get an automatic pass to the semifinals? I awas surprised by how many TOC player so far I did NOT remember at all and couldn’t figure out how I had missed their TOC games

Jeopardy is on 7P PST here. I'm afraid to turn on the TV to see if the exhibition match will make it on the air here--I don't want to inadvertently be exposed to the election.

Hadn’t thought of that. I bet it gets preempted here

It’s on here, no election crap thankfully. Starts at 6:30, odd timing from what Old Goat sees. Hmmm

Ken really screwed up when he ran through the numbers in the one category and there was still 1 clue left to be revealed. Pretty much made it a buzzer contest for the $200... Got bleeped by the censors and everything.

The money wasn't really in play. Have to say Mattea looked much sharper than Amy or Matt. In my mind, she's the one to beat.

Of all the qualifiers, I think Sam Buttrey (sp?) is likely to do well but can he beat one of the big 3?

They were obviously playing a bit more carefree, having some fun and ringing in with guessing on things they may have not risked money on in a true Tournament of Champions or even a regular show. Sort of like the celebrity shows feel too it.

It wasn't preempted here. I'm sure the reason for the exhibition was that they didn't want to put a real TOC match against a Tournament of Losers match (ie--the election.)

Not sure how I feel about the format changes, although I do like that the big three got to be matched up directly even if it didn’t count for anything.

agreed- which made it about as not interesting- I would have liked to see them really face off- maybe we will in the final

the format for the final is very strange- normal semis the next 3 nights and then the final is the first to win 3 nights, with up to 7 nights of finals possible: https://www.cbssports.com/general/ne...watch-bracket/

I like that better than combined money over 2 nights, that's always a bit unsatisfying where you have to constantly be doing math to figure out who is winning or who needs to bid what in daily doubles to take the lead

I thought Matt might have been trying to sandbag a bit with answering so many questions wrong or ringing in when he was “unsure”
I sure hope we get to see those 3 play each other again for real though

One more night with Matteo and 2 others to battle it out for the last final tournament finals spot.

Good game tonight regardless of how bad the Celeb category was...

Nice work by Sam and his interview segment was hilarious.

I'm not going to impugn them for the celeb category because I didn't get any of them and had never even heard of the bottom two.

Came into the episode rooting for Matt Amodeo but by the middle of it I was totally on Sam's team. Super fun to watch him play.

What was up with Matt's final Jeopardy bet? If he had wagered it all he could have won.
