That Carson Pass snotel seems to be in a bad spot. So many times I read it and it's losing snow in the middle of a huge storm.

yep, south lake Tahoe tv guy on weather channel said 12 inches for heavenly.
if you look at the Caltrans videos, i'd say its higher. 267 at northstar and the Caltrans squaw cam look like more than a foot but that may just be the plowed road pile ups.TGR forums cannot handle SkiCougar !

Got a foot of blower in the driveway. My Honda was throwing it into adjacent zip code.

The very bright sun is currently compacting the 5" that fell before midnight last night here at the 50/395 intersection. I'm scheduled to drive over to the Bay to visit family later today so I expect it to dump another foot on me up there.

I just drove over 88. It was 4wd from Woodfords to Amador Station, with the full complement of idiots on the road, and 2 wrecks.
It looked quite deep from the pass to way past the spur. After this settles and we get more, it will be game on.

One has to wonder how Incline Peak will be looking in the morning. Although the lake effect looks to be moving toward Rose if it keeps up.
edit-it backed off back to the west again just after thatLast edited by powdork; 11-28-2019 at 03:39 AM.

Dislocated a shoulder this morning. Looks like I’ll wait a few weeks before playing in any of that snow.
I welcome the slop. Build that base.

until you’ve dislocated you wouldn’t understand how much your shoulder affects your skiing

Did a late afternoon session at Rose today. Super cold with ripping winds over the top combined to bring the wind chill down to ZERO degrees. Here's a few pics..
Looking up towards Waterfall. Cold temps kept the snow light and dry all day. Coverage is pretty good on the main runs. Was super bumped out everywhere by the end of the day.
Northwest chair late in the day. If you were brave enough to venture off piste, pockets of super light pow of a foot or more deep could be found. Beware- Low tide conditions off the groomed are in effect! Use caution.
Good conditions overall, just very cold. Crowds were manageable late in the day. No crashes on the drive down MRH.
