"The ability of effective crews to communicate kept their errors from snowballing into undesirable outcomes.”
While it may be too early to start the new thread, it's never too early to keep your avy mindset tuned up.

^^ It took me a minute to understand your reference. Fuck no, you are NOT starting the 2020 thread. Previous suggestion recanted.

That's me. Making the jump to Mammoth next summer. Gonna send you a PM.
For almost 2 months now. Creek Fire started Sep 4 and they've had very few clear days since. I would think most locals stayed hunkered down, but covid transplants that made the leap over the summer might not be so stoked on sticking around.
The rental market in Mammoth is bogged down right now by the influx of seasonal folks. It's damn near impossible to find a rental this time of year. You'll see ads of people willing to rent closet & floorspace, or married couples willing to split up to rent separately. It's dire.Last edited by thefrush; 11-02-2020 at 09:50 AM.

Good shops in Reno for a mount/tune that would make an ex-racer happy?

There are only 3 shops in Reno:
Blue Zone
Bobo's
Snow Wind (a former co-worker of mine who is a PSIA examiner owns this shop).
Back in the day, the shop most of the North Lake racers used was Start Haus in Truckee.
But I know a lotta race folks who have switched to Smooth Rides (again, Truckee) they also do a great job and cater to racers.
I have had tunes done at Start Haus ($$$) and Smooth Rides and both have been solid...
I have no experience with the Reno shops, though my former co-worker who owns Snow Wind is meticulous in regards to his own gear, so can only assume he would give a meticulous tune to his customers...
