That sucks. Bummed for ya. We are going on week one of nothing but roads, which sucks. But we don’t have snow to contend with.

instabanger before safety or humanity bro.
Ain't you been paying attention?
You know how sometimes you can't see your phone screen in the sun? I almost wonder if that was it. Because that's a horrible human being if he just sat there and watched that as if it were netflix.Besides the comet that killed the dinosaurs nothing has destroyed a species faster than entitled white people.-ajp

did we watch the same video?
I've been in that spot before, like literally in that location. And I would damn well start walking. Burial isn't the only concern.
edit: I just remembered. I actually have been in a similar position before. It was mountainbikes but I was filming and ended up shooting something that I don't really like to remember. The audio was a little different.Besides the comet that killed the dinosaurs nothing has destroyed a species faster than entitled white people.-ajp

Looks like the Lakeside Inn is the first casualty.

Lakeside Inn fold?
I imagine a lot of those small hotels in SLT will have a hard time staying afloat.
What does that mean for the future? New ownership or less inventory?
That video is horrifying.

The Official 19/20 Tahoe Ski Snowboard Thread. Plus bonus Bootfitting Recs!
Jesus Christ, that video really is fucking horrifying. Horrifying enough that I’d feel bad flaming this person. But FFS, why on early be ripping lines like that right now. Idk what conditions are on the east side, but monitoring the Sierra avy center here there’s been a serious wet slab problem since at least the day that avalanche happened.
There’s a backcountry thread on reddit that I occasionally look at. Mostly self-righteous Jerry’s still posting stoke pics. Anyways, one person said that anyone saying not to ski right now is stupid because spring is “the safest time to ski avalanche-wise” and it’s fine as long as you’re solo. Group-think seemed to support what this guy was saying. People have stopped surprising me.

I’d be super sad to see them go. First time in the Tahoe area I stayed at one of those motels in south lake for $50, got up the next morning and storm skied at Kirkwood. Those hotels/motels really are helpful to lower-income people trying to experience the area. Their margins have to be so tight already as it is tho

These fokes are completely fed up with people starting out at 1pm and leaving deep tracks in the slope that freeze hard for the next morning’s corn run. I told them not to come to California cuz we have a no-NIMBY policy.

Article about Mt Rose expansion: https://www.tahoedailytribune.com/ne...cross-highway/
Doubt they get started on it anytime soon but will that be the first resort in the USA to have a lift/ski bridge across a highway?
