Cloudy calm day at Squaw. Groomers were soft and fast, off piste was slightly variable but everything was edgeable. Great base for the tiny refreshers the next few days, if they're not too warm.

Rain on top of mashed potatoes... should be interesting out there today. Models are backing off on the actual snow storm part for Sunday / Monday - what a bust. Oh well, we were due for one of these.

Skied Alpine yesterday for the first time this season and was reminded what a fun mtn it is. Mid winter corn cycle was in effect on the Sherwood side. The groomers were were smooth and carvable. Did the high traverse late in the day over towards the South Face and it was still really good, with the snow getting a little sticky just before you got back onto the groomed.
Everything to the lookers right of the Sherwood chair skied well all day after it softened.
Low clouds hung over the Lake for much of the day. Alpine was empty, no waiting in lines and easy to park close. Great day and did 25 runs total.

Went to Squaw this morning with low expectations and it kinda sucked at first, but once the sun broke through and things started to soften it actually turned into fun spring skiing conditions. Still holding out hope for Sunday...
I ski 135 degree chutes switch to the road.

Went to heavenly with expectations to just run groomers, big cloud over the top kept the upper mountain quite chilly in the am and was a bit under dressed. Stopped in east peak lodge for 6 dollar coffee to warm up and a guy joined me at the table and said he just had a great run in killebrew on several inches of fresh over a soft bottom. I was skeptical but decided to check it out and wow super fun! I think most of the snow that came down last night blew in there, up to 6” of fresh over a soft bottom. Even though I did not get in there till lunch I got first tracks in Stateline and the middle finger, 4 really fun runs.

I think there’s some confusion here

I love skiing in early April...
It must have hit 50+ at Alpine today. Saw some girls skiing in tank tops. Corn and slush, pretty fun until about 2pm or so. If tomorrow ends up being a mini pow day, that's going to be a crazy turnaround in less than 12 hours.

What happened at 2pm? Sun get too low? Or were things too soft?

Squaw was pretty good while I was there in the morning. Spring skiing for sure, car read 52 as I was pulling out of the parking lot at 12pm. Sunbowl and Sibo were nice and soft, some other stuff not so much.
