But....you have such a nice lawn! Also, we were north of Emerald Bay. Don't get greedy now - y'all already have SugarMaggs, Tallac, Echo, Flag, Talking, Trimmer, Freel, Carson valley descents, CPSSR, Roundtop... We have Donner Peak...and Squaw. I think you win.

The storm (and wind) has really started to move in over the past hour or so.
doesn't ring a bell but then I spent my chair rides huddled in my hood for the most part. Orange jacket, black pants, old Bonafides. Hope I can ski something wider by the end of the week.

    nope
last i heard it takes six hours to get from truckee to tahoe city, another hour to get to the south shore sunnyside restaurant, and another hour after that to get to the meyers homewood cafe.

The Official 19/20 Tahoe Ski Snowboard Thread. Plus bonus Bootfitting Recs!

AM this morning: summit and roundhouse both on wind hold, Hotter Wheels is scheduled to go. Definitely a fan of the new lift. Edit: Nevermind, roundhouse spinning too.

I’d like to thank everyone for going to KT. Boot deep blower pow in Waterfall and other gullies at Alpine. No lines.

Definitely no reason to go out to Telluride with all the crowds and flatter than northstar....

Enough windblown deepness at SB today to get out some wider skis (the ones Rod thinks are too wimpy for serious skiing. I should challenge Rod to a ski off but I've seen him ski, so no.)

Heading from CO to Tahoe the last week in Feb.
We're planning on hitting Squaw, but wondering if we should ski 4 days there or bounce around.

If we bounce, what's the shortlist?

Squaw is definitely worth 2 days (one at Squaw, one at Alpine Meadows). Best options after that are Kirkwood and Sugar Bowl... just be aware that Kirkwood is a lot further away from Truckee / Tahoe City than most visitors realize.

Alpine for sure, Kirkwood if you can make it down there (depending on where you're staying it's a haul from N Shore) and Rose if the Chutes are going off. Northstar sucks unless everything else in the basin is on wind hold and then you can have a lot of fun on the backside.

Heavenly if Mott and Killebrew have reasonably fresh snow.
The casinos if it hasn't snowed in a month

Are you looking to stick to ski areas all on one pass (Epic or Ikon), or buying tickets?

If buying, and if going to Mt Rose at any time, all the Rose season passes come with discount buddy tickets. PM me if you need some.

Early and with clear roads it’s 1:40 from KT-22 to Chair 6. Not really that long of a drive. Pretty nice drive to boot.

I’d make the call depending on weather and such things. Alpine was skiing much better than KW after the rain and with the light dusting. It would not have been worth driving to KW on Jan 2-5th this year.

    Awesome- Thanks for the beta.
We're buying passes daily to have some freedom. I wanted to do this as a storm-chasing trip, but with work travel we had to pick a week to make it happen.
